About Joel Bauer

Joel M. Bauer is a 49-year-old U.S. Army Veteran from Dunn, NC, which is just outside of Raleigh. After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Army, he attended school at Taylor University, a Christian liberal arts school, in Fort Wayne, IN, where he received his BS in social work and psychology. He has worked in such places as a homeless shelter, a community based treatment center for severe mental illnesses, a school for troubled students, and other social service agencies. His current endeavor is to build The Bottom Line website into a site that inspires both Christians and non-Christians alike, and brings glory to God.

  1. My thoughts in regard to Lucifer was that he was a beautifully created angel who somehow felt worthy to usurp God’s position as the one to be worshipped. Beauty could have been the factor that brought about the beginning of his downfall.
    Interesting that this world seeks those very things. The question is does this same desire distort our lives. Do we value ourselves or others by how we measure up to the standards we think constitutes beauty. It can be what trips so many of us up when this is what we seek after.
    Pride can be cultivated in our hearts along with false assumptions that we put ourselves above others as the devil tried to do with God.
    It really is what is on the inside that counts for good or evil.
