A Word About Mothers

By Joel B.

Prov 31:28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

Tomorrow is Mother’s Day; a day we all take out each and every year to pay tribute to our mothers. They conceived us and have raised us into the fine people we are today. Truthfully, every day should be Mother’s Day. I don’t mean showering mom with flowers, candy, and balloons every day, but calling her blessed or letting her know how important she is. This is sure to keep her smiling long after the hairs on her head have turned gray.

Now let me say, many a Christian woman desires to be the Proverbs 31 woman. Her children rise up and call her blessed and so does her husband who also praises her. This is how things should be in a perfect family environment. We should bless and encourage our mom’s because they really do have a tough job.

Let me tell you a little about my mom. She is an inspiration. She wakes up early every morning and reads her Bible. She has for as long as I can remember. She cooks, she cleans, she cleans some more, and she always makes sure there is a nice meal to eat at dinner. I’m just trying to say, mom’s do a lot. They are blessed. They’re worthy of praise.

For those moms who aren’t getting the praise they need and rightfully deserve, I just want to say thank you and that you are blessed. Thank you for taking care of your families and thank you for being who you are. God loves you and you are important. God has a plan for each and every one of you.

In closing, let’s remember to praise and call our mothers blessed, but let’s not only practice this on Mother’s Day. Let’s help our moms to be Proverbs 31 women. Lets let them know they are important and that they are loved. Lets show our moms that they are special and that they have a special place in our hearts. That is what I believe the good Lord would have us do. Thank you for reading and God bless.
