Needed: Mother Hearts

This world needs more Mother Hearts.  As eyes focus this weekend on honoring moms, may it lead us to seek the source of Mother love.  May that seeking make us thirsty to receive God Himself…to receive a Mother Heart that loves as He loves.  The only thing we can ever give is that which we have received.    The truth is Motherhood is all about receiving!  Mother Hearts seek God in all of life—and produce life in the process.

The greatest gift of motherhood is not a baby.  The greatest gift of motherhood is receiving a Mother’s Heart from God Himself. Such Mother Hearts glimpse dimensions beyond the earthly and ponder them.  Divine Mother Hearts reveal themselves in their life-producing ways.   Some receive such a heart through children.  Some receive Mother Hearts through hardship; others through grief.  The vehicle that delivers the heart is not the source:  God Himself is the source of Mother Hearts.

Like God Himself, Mother Hearts sacrifice and give because of love.  Mother Hearts never die.  Though a sword may pass through it, nothing annihilates the Heart of a Mother. A Mother’s Heart enters in to the work of the divine:  receiving love and pouring it into the hearts of others loved by God.  A Mother’s Heart is a divine gift…an eternal, life-producing treasure.

Looking deep into a Mother’s Heart reveals the face of God for the heart of a mother ponders vast depths of the unknown.  Consider Mary, the mother of the Messiah.

“…but Mary continued to treasure in her heart all these things and to ponder them.”

She pondered immense things:  A divine conception that placed her life at risk; prophesies that included discomfort and danger; angelic messengers and the pressure of the hope of nations.  Pondering produces powerful results…for either good or evil.  Eve, the mother of humanity, pondered what she could do.  Mary, the mother of God, pondered what He could do. Such pondering opens the door for God BL mother heartHimself.

For me, motherhood opened my heart to dimensions unknown…dimensions that humbled me in such a needed way.  It made me vulnerable and desperate for more than I could be.  My longing to protect and bless my baby collided with my limits and brought me to my knees.  I cried out to God to do what I could not do…and therein lies the birth of a Mother’s Heart!

Mother Hearts grow in the greatest gifts:  faith, hope and love…for those are what mothering demands.  Mother Hearts grow in faith as they feed on the promises of God.  Mother Hearts develop confident hope in the power of God, certain of His good plans and power to deliver.  Mother Hearts soak in His love and overflow that love onto others.  Mother hearts receive God-gifts that bring life to a broken world so loved by God.

Get your Mother Heart today; there is love to be done!

  1. As the world focuses on Mother’s Day, my heart aches for those who have grieve for their moms or their children, for those who can not/do not have children, for those whose moms were broken and couldn’t love.

MOTHER HEARTS are what we all can celebrate! So, I give this to those I know on here who hurt on Mother’s Day…may it reveal a gift waiting for you…a gift you can receive only if you give it away.

  2. BillieJo, I love this precious message. God bless all mother hearts! Happy Mother’s Day to you and all the moms of “The Bottom Line”.
