The Truth will Stick

Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it. Proverbs 22:6

We know that the truth of God is more powerful than any double-edged sword. It is so effective that it will divide between the human soul and spirit. Raising our children from a young age up, on the power of His Word will benefit both our children and us. Our children will be deeply rooted in the truth. We will have peace of mind knowing our children are being raised in the power of the Word and we are training them in the way they should go in the truth. It will remain with them for the rest of their natural lives.

Teenagers sometimes rebel against our authority and God’s authority. They even may drift into alcohol and drug abuse. The truth of God’s Word is so powerful and life changing that His Word will always bring that young person back into the fold; and he will either become born-again or re-dedicate his life to the Savior. Think about the ability of the scriptures to be able to transform a person’s nature:

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2

He is faithful by His Spirit to transform our children’s nature from the first day we expose them to His marvelous truth. We must never neglect to bring our children up in the ways of the Lord. The winds will blow, the storms will come. But the Word of Our God will stand forever and He will never let them out of sight or loose His grip on their lives. We do our part in raising them in the truth and God will do His part in keeping them in that truth until they are old.
