Don’t Let Satan Stop You

What holds you back from doing what you believe you were meant to do? Is it the opinion of others, or a lack of confidence in yourself? Maybe you’ve tried in the past and failed. Maybe you face a disability that seems to stand in the way of your success. Do you find it hard to believe that God has put His Hand on you for something special? It’s true, God has a special plan for your life, but it won’t come without opposition from the enemy. Are you letting Satan stop you?

The believers addressed in 1 Thessalonians 1, must have felt similar struggles in their day. Yet they learned to take both trouble and joy through God’s strength. We can do the same!

Every time we think we thank God for you. Day and night you’re in our prayers as we call to mind your work of faith, your labor of love, and your patience of hope in following our Master, Jesus Christ, before God our Father. It is clear to us, friends, that God not only loves you very much but also has put his hand on you for something special. When the Message we preached came to you, it wasn’t just words. Something happened in you. The Holy Spirit put steel in your convictions.  You paid careful attention to the way we lived among you, and determined to live that way yourselves. In imitating us, you imitated the Master. Although great trouble accompanied the Word, you were able to take great joy from the Holy Spirit!—taking the trouble with the joy, the joy with the trouble. 1 Thessalonians 1: 3-5

Our Father has a special plan for each of us. He made each one of us for a purpose. Though we all have struggles, inadequacies, and in some cases, disabilities that would seem to limit us, we can all make the choice to move forward: steel in our convictions!

Nick Vujicic has taken the truth found in 1 Thessalonians to heart, and he knows trouble firsthand!  Let his story inspire you!

What are you letting Satan, the father of lies, stop you from doing? What will you do today to move forward in life with the help of a Heavenly Father, Who loves you very much?
