Hezekiah You shall Live!

Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Lord, “Remember, Lord, how I have walked before you faithfully and with wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes. And Hezekiah wept bitterly. Then the word of the Lord came to Isaiah: Go and tell Hezekiah, This is what the Lord, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will add fifteen years to your life. Isaiah 38:2-5

Is God on it or not? Hezekiah, weeps before the Lord and before Isaiah can get out of the palace… God stops Isaiah and spoke, these words of life, tell my anointed, I have heard Hezekiah’s prayer and I have seen his tears. I will add fifteen years to his life and this illness will not lead to death. On top of that the Lord gives the king a sign to confirm this prophetic word.

Father God turns the sundial back ten degrees. You know what this means? It means God literally set the sun back ten degrees in its orbit. This was God’s way of telling Hezekiah that He loved him so much and that he would keep his promise, to add fifteen years to the king’s life. Also, God promised the king He would keep his word to him.

Who else but our loving God would have so much love and compassion for one man? That He would go to these extremes to make His point? Tell me who? God heard his prayers and saw his tears and granted the man an extended life. God raised Hezekiah from his deathbed and gave him fifteen more years to live.

The Lord turned a losing situation into a glorious victory for Hezekiah. When we cry out to God with sincere and trusting hearts, the Lord will be touched with compassion for us and deliver us from impossible life circumstances The next time you find yourself down and out, drowning in tears of sadness and bitterness, call out the Lord. He will be right there to answer you with the life-saving miracle you need.
