Help Me To The End Of My Sin

“This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope. Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed,
Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.”
Lamentations 3:21-23

Hope is given to us, for hope is needed as the battle against sin still rages within the righteous. God’s love never ceases, for without His great love we would not make it until the end. Unless His mercies are given enough every day to fight, we would lose the battle with sin. I thank my Lord that His faithfulness is great, for the battle within still rages.

If an individual or a nation stops running to the battle, all hope is lost and we are consumed as the Lord’s mercies are no longer being renewed. God is faithful and His love never fails, but we must join with Him in the battle. This He has recalled to my mind about the promises of God, He said: “For all the promises of God are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.” (2 Corinthians 1:20).

Are you resting in His sure promises, or are you one of the doubting Thomases?

If there is no battle raging within over our sin, we should be most concerned. For, the lost battle not over their sin. The lost are looking not for a battle, but look instead to live comfortably and easily in their sin. Lord, lead us to the battle and help us to the end of our sin!

How do you see your battle ragin’?

Help Me To The End Of My Sin

So much has been said.
There is nothing left to say.
It wouldn’t help me anyway.
I’ve been to that place called error.
Stayed too long in the house of doubt.
Don’t ask me if one day I simply prayed,
For lovin’ myself is a hard habit to break.

The war keeps ragin’.
I still need savin’.
The battle still rages deep within my soul.
I long for that day when I am made whole.
The war…It keeps ragin’.
Oh, how powerful is my sin.
Lord, help me to the end of my sin!

I need a warrior.
Someone who’ll come fight for me.
Someone whose seen what I’ve seen.
I’ve feared what everyone else feared.
I need someone who is greater.
Who is able to kill both body and soul.
Who will come His vengeance to behold.

The war keeps ragin’.
I still need savin’.
Oh, how powerful is my sin.
Lord, help me to the end of my sin.

I’m only a man.
Who thought he had a good simple plan.
What can I say to any of these things.
How pitiful were all my man-made schemes.
I long for someone…
Who can put an end to all of my dying.
To all of my mourning and my crying.

I know sin’s power has been broken.
But in my soul, the war keeps ragin’.
I’ve hatched many an adder’s egg.
I’ve woven many a spider’s web.
But, there’s no bottom to the deep well of Your love.
Your mercies they come every mornin’.
I have hope, for You’re greater than my sin.
Lord, help me to the end of my sin!

  1. Beautifully put. We can understand this problem in every one of us if we are honest. The struggle against sin is too great for us to handle. Only Christ in us brings about our deliverance as we look to him continuously.
Your poem was well done. Thank you and God give us the victories over all sin.
