In order for your children to feel safe when you go out you ask them to hold your hand. This is for safety reasons. In our every day struggles we as children of God need someone to hold our hand. In the mist of trouble we need the comfort of the greatness of God. The word of God to give us hope in this trying time.
Deuteronomy 31:6 BE STRONG AND OF GOOD COURAGE, FEAR NOT, NOR BE AFRAID OF THEM:FOR THE LORD THY GOD, HE IT IS THAT GO WITH THEE; HE WILL NOT FAIL THEE, NOR FORSAKE THEE.
So as I close this put your hand in the hand of the man who can control the sea He will see you through anything.
