Co-Founder Of Newsboys Now An Atheist; Says He Will Expose Christian Music

There are many threats to Christianity. Since prayer was taken out of the schools over fifty years ago, Atheist have sought to silence Christianity. Atheism now has a new soldier in the battle.

The Co-Founder of the “Newsboys” George Perdikis, who is now an Atheist, said on his FB page on 11/21/14:

“Thinking about writing a book (with a ghostwriter) exposing the Christian music industry”?

He said also on 01/21/14:

“My new years resolution is to pick on religion more”.

I don’t wish to make this an indictment of Mr. Perdikis as I know some Christians will do, but I feel it is important to inform you of what he plans to do and ask the question: “Isn’t there a greater threat to Christianity than Atheism or even Islamic Terrorists?”

Mr. Perdikis wished to be free from God and religion unable to stand under the weight of God’s law. Like so many, he lacks understanding that true freedom only comes through Christ Jesus. One of the “Newsboys” T-shirts bears the logo “I Am Free.” If only Mr. Perdikis, and so many like him could have eyes opened to see where true freedom comes from.

Acts 7:25

In an interview with Christopher Tanner; Co-Host and PR director of Atheist Analysis posted on You Tube Jan. 4th 2014, Mr. Perdikis had a lot to say about Christianity. He said:

“There is a lot of filth and laundry that needs to be aired; and it shall be.”

“They (the Christian music industry) need to be held accountable for their crimes against humanity”.

Mr. Perdikis stated there are a lot of people in the industry that are just exploiting others for their own greed and they attract many vulnerable people. He considers himself a victim of Christianity. He wishes to warn people and stop Christians from preaching their message.

Mr. Perdikis said:

“The music is designed to manipulate their audience into believing.”

Mr. Perdikis describes the Movie “God Is Not Dead”, where the “Newsboys” perform their song by the same name, as:

“Demonizing everyone who is not Christian. That is how they view everyone elseThey live life in a veil of separation and feel that they are superior and they feel they are enlightened. It is a false reality.”

Mr. Perdikis is not to be demonized as he has accused Christians of doing. There is some truth in what he has said and we as Christians ought to pay heed.

Galatians 1:6-9

In my prior article “Stand Or Fall”, I asked the question: “Shouldn’t we examine ourselves?” The greatest threat to Christianity is not Atheists or Islamic Terrorists. The greatest threat to Christianity is inside the very four walls of the Church. Having only a “form of Godliness” and using worldly programs and strategies to save the lost; has the Church only given many a false conversion? The Preacher, Paul Washer, calls it a “spiritual miscarriage.” Have we replaced seeking the power of God to save with these worldly simple plans of saving them?

Since the Apostle Paul warned that many would fall away from the faith believing in all manner of false teachings, the Church has always been threatened from within. Our unwillingness to examine ourselves through the light of scripture leaves us vulnerable to Satan’s attacks. Too often, it takes someone like George Perdikis to cast that light on Christianity. Mr. Perdikis has fallen from the faith. Many have and many more will. Shouldn’t we be asking; why? Has our religion become empty of the power of God to save? Is there something missing; and is that something; God?

                          False Believers

I don’t know just where to begin
The empty stares…They think their saved from sin
So dark are the doors to their soul
Living lives just playing a role

I don’t know what’s between the lies and the cries
Going back and forth from the lows to the highs
They are False Believers that need their will to be broken
Their taking the blame from His Word that is spoken

I don’t know what it will take to break through
False Believers…It ain’t anything that is new
Their lives torn into a million pieces
The consuming fire…They’ll watch as it blazes

If only you could see
If you could see what Love can do
How Love died on a tree
False Believers…Love should be changing you

Where there is a life that is truly living
There is a sacrifice that Love is giving
False Believers…Love paid the price
Will it be Hell or will it be Love’s Paradise

False Believers…Something should be changing you
False Believers…Come see what True Love can really do

  1. I enjoy reading your articles, Ron. You say what needs to be said. Many so-called “Christians” still do not see the distinction between religion and a relationship with Christ. To many people their “Christianity” is nothing more than programs and activities, as you have stated, with no power or relevance. I think that is what Mr. Perdikis is refering to. If one wants to see what real Christianity is like they need to read the Book of Acts.

    • Thanks John! It is my passion to speak to the lost that think they are saved. I questioned for years if I was one. I grieve for those that will hear: “Depart from me” thinking they are saved. Your words bless me and humble me my brother. Thank you for commenting! ron,

  2. It really saddens me to hear stories like Mr. Perdikis and the pastor who ‘quit’ Christianity for a year and then for good.
Though it saddens me and don’t like to hear them, we need to. We need to admit that this problem exists. We have to ask ourselves why do people see us as hypocrites. Perhaps we don’t send the message that, though we are saved by God’s grace, we also need to continue to seek Him and mature as Christians. We also need to be honest and share that, though we may desire to be obedient, we are human, we are vulnerable..and sometimes we fail. We should not use it as an excuse but we need to be mindful of our own vulnerabilities. – Because satan certainly stays mindful of them.
We cannot give the impression that we are lily white and sinless. Isaiah 64:6 shows us why:
…We are all infected and impure with sin. When we put on our prized robes of righteousness, we find they are but filthy rags. Like autumn leaves we fade, wither, and fall. And our sins, like the wind, sweep us away. TLB

  3. Thanks for your added comments Melinda! ron,

  4. Who gives a rats furry butt about what Mr. Perdikis says! If God is not that important to him, then let him move to the Middle East or Michigan where his denial of God will be appreciated!

    😀

    • Thanks for your comment and for reading. I care for I think it gives Christians some idea why people are leaving the Church. I just believe we have something to learn from it. We are imperfect people in an imperfect Church. We should seek to understand why anyone would “fall away” from the faith. God bless You!

  5. After reading the article, I don’t see the part where Perdikas was a believer. Maybe he wasn’t an atheist at the time, but a Christian we can’t assume he was. So to assume he fell from the faith assumes he had faith at one time. I don’t see that in the article. What I get out of it is that two guys set out to make a rock band, due to parental pressure they became a Christian band, Perdikas went along for the ride but left. So, in reality, he left a Christian band that he, one that he fell into by default, and not Christianity because it seems he was never a Christian to begin with. I think we tend to define things by product labels rather then the content at the product.
