This is a follow-up on a previous article I did talking about much of the demonic activity deceiving the world under the guise of new-age spirituality, self-help and prosperity teachings–even trendy health and fitness techniques. I pray that anyone reading this who is involved in any of the areas I mention will see the truth and cease any study or practice immediately, pray, repent and ask Jesus to close any open doors.
I won’t be able to go into major depth here, but I will give an outline and provide some resources for additional study in links throughout. I do name many names of teachers and self-help “gurus” I know are currently teaching false doctrines, and do not mean to be just bashing and hating on them, but to challenge you, the reader, to do as I have done and contrast their teachings with the Word of God and discern for yourself. The links provided offer massive documentation to support my position.
I mentioned in another article, it was “coincidence” that led me down the path of counterfeit spirituality and self-help teachings. The area I studied the most in-depth over the years was self-help teachings promising happiness, spiritual fulfillment, success, wealth and material gain. Needless to say this focus ushered in countless opportunities for deceptions in every other area of my life as well.
“But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” (1 Timothy 6:9-10)
I went from Napoleon Hill’s, Think & Grow Rich, to devouring all of Tony Robbin’s teachings, to then studying writers claiming to have gotten their wisdom from “ascended masters” or “spirit guides” etc. Napoleon Hill was one who very openly claimed to get his wisdom from “invisible counselors” and his works train people to contact the spirit realm through their “sixth sense” and unhealthy use of the imagination. Tony Robbin’s intense study of N.L.P. and hypnosis techniques I believe have made him a major vessel for demonically-inspired teachings. His famed “fire-walking” events and heavy endorsement by the queen of false teaching and new-age deception, Oprah Winfrey, should clue you in to the source of his “unlimited power.”
One book that had a major impact on me was called, Many Lives, Many Masters, by Brian Weiss, another one of Oprah’s favorite “gurus” professing pure luciferian deception along with people like Eckhart Tolle. The author claimed that while hypnotically regressing one of his clients through countless past-lives he would come in contact with “ascended masters” that would speak through her in a hypnotized state and teach him profound spiritual “truths” and “revelations.” These lies reinforce the buddhist deception of reincarnation and things such as hypnosis and even meditation can open doors to major demonic attacks.
There are countless new age false teachers rampantly spreading these demonically-inspired writings and teachings especially under the guise of spirituality, the law of attraction and other self-help and prosperity gospel teachings. Rhonda Byrne of, The Secret, Wayne Dyer, Marianne Williamson, Esther Hicks channeling “Abraham”, and Neale Donald Walsh are some very notable ones just to name a few. So what does the Bible say about the approach these so-called teachers are using to gain their wisdom?
“There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord, and because of these abominations the Lord your God drives them out from before you.” (Deuteronomy 18:10-12)
“And the person who turns to mediums and familiar spirits, to prostitute himself with them, I will set My face against that person and cut him off from his people.” (Leviticus 20:6)
The last area I’d like to mention again is the highly popularized practice of yoga and the interesting similarities between the yogic process of the “kundalini-awakening” and the new-age idea of “ascension” and it’s symptoms. If you follow those two previous links and see the symptoms coming from yoga and ascension, you’ll find the lists almost identical. Things like increased self-talk or inner-voices, and your body spontaneously going into postures outside of your deliberate will sounds a lot like demonic possession to me and that’s because it is exactly what is happening. DO NOT BE DECEIVED my friends, watch the video; yoga is a satanic practice–every posture is a tribute to a hindu “god.”
Would you go to a satanic ritual and participate in a sexual orgy or sacrifice and kill and animal? No, you wouldn’t. Would you go on a march with some hateful atheistic cult like this one just because it would be good exercise? Doubtful. So why would you do yoga? Do pilates instead, it’s the same type of workout without the harmful spiritual fallout.
In closing remember these words:
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” (1 Peter 5:8)
The devil is real and he and his demons are out there attacking Christians and non-christians alike every chance they get. It is our job as followers of Christ to expose evil and do everything within our power to protect those around us from the deceptions that can cause eternal damnation. Hallelujah, God is on our side, we just have to allow the Spirit of Truth to fill and guide us.
Have you been deceived by anything mentioned in this article? What areas of your life and the lives of those close to you might need some increased discernment?
