Christianity: It’s A Lifestyle

“I don’t just know Jesus, I live Jesus!”

Today I didn’t feel like writing much. I didn’t have any inspiration for it. No calling by the Lord to write a word. Then suddenly God struck! He spoke to me about how my faith isn’t just what people would call a “religion.” To me it’s so much more, and I know it is to others as well. You see, it’s a LIFESTYLE and I LOVE IT.

Unity

Something I enjoy about this lifestyle is the unity between Christ and the body of believers. We are not just one, but rather many joined together by one Spirit (1 Cor 12). As long as we stay within the fold, we are a part of a powerful force. Jesus sent the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, who is a discerner and He oftentimes allows members within the body of Christ to discern what others are experiencing (John 14:26).  Sometimes I will know if a brother or sister is hurting because the Lord will let me know. This is something special. No other belief system can make such a claim.

Now say someone strays from the fold. We have an awesome Lord and Savior who will come after them. He won’t leave you in the pit. He will bring you back to the fold so you can be with your brothers and sisters, and find peace again in Him (Matt 12:11, Matt 18:11-14).

Spiritual Warfare

Another great aspect about the Christian lifestyle is we war together. Paul told us about how we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but rather spiritual wickedness (Eph 6:12). We don’t have to fight amongst ourselves. However, we have battles to fight together against Satan and his minions. The great thing is we don’t have to go at it alone. God encourages us to join together with other believers to fight against these spiritual entities. And guess what? They can’t win. In fact, they’ve already lost. The Holy Bible tells us Jesus Christ made an open spectacle of them and we can live in victory (Col 2:15).

Praise and Worship

Have you ever been to church? I mean CHURCH! Not a place with people snoozing in the pews, but rather people on fire for God. This is what Christianity needs to be like and many churches are missing the mark. I’m not saying you need to rolling around on the floor or dancing, but don’t be afraid to stand up, sing, and raise your hands to God.

I have also noticed that I enjoy Christian music much more than other music. It inspires me and it has a good message. It’s just another aspect of this lifestyle I enjoy. It speaks to my spirit, and allows me to get a frame of mind in which I can communicate better with the Lord and others around me.

Final Thought

Friends, I don’t know about you, but I adore the Christian lifestyle. I think it’s beautiful and pure. I just hope to learn to live less of the sinner’s lifestyle and learn more to live the “Jesus lifestyle”, because He set the perfect example of how we should live. Thank you for reading and God bless.

What are some lifestyle changes you can make to live the “Jesus lifestyle?”
