God Is Central To Our Existence and Worthy of Our Praise

We cannot praise God enough, nor do we praise Him enough. Every idle moment we have in the day should be used to praise God for His wonderful mercies and the love He has for us. He is infused into the fabric of our very existence. Look around you; there is nothing that God did not create. Every breath we take, every step we make, God uniquely designed for each one of us. What’s more amazing is that God set all this into motion at the beginning of time, and as time runs its course He continues to do so, never giving less, never giving more, always giving just what we need.

“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect ; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them” (Psalm 139:14-16).

So shout your praise from the mountain tops, praise Him in the valleys, praise Him from the sea shore, praise Him over the oceans. Praise Him until our voices echo across the universe and fill its vastness.

God deserves our best and we so often refuse to yield. There is nothing we can do that God is not part of. If we can accept that fact, then we can live our life in total freedom. By living for God there may be times when we find ourselves in situations where we will have to risk our lives, or risk embarrassment. We may be called to do impossible feats of heroism, rush into burning buildings, jump from planes, walk the dark streets of the worst neighborhoods on earth … and we will persevere. If that feat is the last thing you do in life, then so be it. You will find yourself in the presence of God. Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. Our wonderful God will never let us stumble without a safe place to land.

The point is: we must yield to God’s will, recognize His voice, and obey His commands without worry–without fear of failure. God is in control. Let Him lead you.

How do we recognize the voice of God? We must experience Him, and allow Him to fill our hearts and souls. We must be baptized with the Holy Spirit and made new to clearly hear God’s voice. Once we have accepted Christ as our Savior and have asked for the baptism of the Holy Spirit within us, we will begin to bear the fruit of the Spirit, which is evidence that we have indeed made a full commitment to God.

“The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control” (Galatians 5:22).

We will also have the desire to fulfil God’s will in our lives and the gifts of the Holy Ghost will begin to reveal themselves in us.

“But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will” (1 Corinthians 12:7-11).

When God manifests His Spirit in our lives, we learn to recognize His voice. In return we must learn to praise Him for all He does for us–from the smallest things to the greatest miracles, because life does not happen without God.

Life would not exist without God. Our very existence is because of Him. He created us. He will take care of us and when we have completed our mission here on earth, He will take us home, no matter how young, how old, how sick or how tragic our lives may be–He is in control. His will is defined in us, we can’t escape what He designed us to do. God’s will is supreme, there is no way for it to go unfulfilled whether we are willing subjects or not. Yield to God, praise Him for what He does and hold close to your heart the promises of God.

As Christians, our goal should be to know God so acutely that everything we do and say will fulfill God’s divine will.

What have you praised God for today? Do you recognize Him as central to your very existence?
