In His Presence

Did you know God can change your life in His presence? Imagine the creator of the universe, inviting you into a life changing experience in His presence. The bible paints a clear picture of how God’s presence radically changed Paul in his relationship to God.

“As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?” Acts 9:3-4

The presence of Jesus Christ surrounded, Paul, in the form of a beam light. His presence knocked Paul off his horse outwardly. Inwardly he was radically changed. He was on a mission to eradicate the church and kill all the Christians he could find in His lifetime! But Jesus in a split moment changed all of that. He changed Paul’s nature, vision and his whole purpose in life. Paul became a loving pillar in the church of Jesus Christ. He was the most prolific apostle and writer in his age. He also wrote 2/3 of the New Testament that is now in the canon of the bible.

Paul received the revelations from God because he spent many life changing moments in His presence. He started more churches than any another disciple in the early formation of the church. He was baptized in the Holy Spirit and changed his name from Saul to Paul.

The book of Acts records in chapter 2 another radical experience the Disciples of Christ had in His presence. The day of Pentecost changed everything within the disciples and the world as it was known in their time.

“When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.  They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them.  All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.” Acts 2:1-4

We know the result of this radical encounter in God’s presence. Peter gave an anointed sermon that very day with divine boldness he didn’t have before the Pentecost experience. His message was so saturated with God’s presence that 3000 people were cut to the heart and born into God’s kingdom that day. Peter and the disciples went into hiding in the upper room before Pentecost in fear. Pentecost changed all of that as God came upon the disciples in that upper room and changed them forever in His presence. Get into His presence today!

Have you had a life changing experience in God’s presence?
