Trusting Him In the Midst of Life

What was the purpose of Jesus coming into the world? Was it to bring peace to all the nations? No, he actually said the exact opposite:

“Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. For I have come to‘set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’; and ‘a man’s enemies will be those of his own household. (Matthew 10:34-36)

Instead, He came into the world to “seek and save that which was lost” (Luke 19:10) having one soul purpose; to become a living sacrifice showing what true love is about.

By becoming fully human, he experienced circumstances, emotions, and life so that we would have someone who can relate to anything that we may go through ourselves.

No matter what trial we may be walking into, through, or out of, God is there. We may not want to recognize or accept that He is watching especially if our struggle may seem unfair in our own eyes. We may even question how a God who is supposed to love us endlessly would allow such suffering to take place, yet we cannot see beyond our own understanding. We can only trust that God is walking us through.

In Proverbs, God calls us to trust in Him and not our own understanding of the situation.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)

As difficult as it may be, God places us in situations that lead us with only one direction to turn towards and that is to Him.  When the world around us begins to fail, He is the one who will remain faithful and will never let us down.

What trials have you overcome by leaning in close to God and asking Him to lead you through?
