Will My Pets Be Safe At the Second Coming Of Christ?

Many people panic at the thought of what will happen to their beloved animals when in the twinkling of an eye Christ returns to carry away His followers. They think that their puppies, kittens, and other adorable animals are going to be stranded and starve to death. Some people won’t even own a pet, or refuse to leave their home unless absolutely necessary, because they believe they can quickly grab a hold of their critter and carry it away with them. Well, I’m here to shed a little light on the matter. I do not believe that any of this panic is necessary and that your pets will be perfectly safe. Let’s look at the facts from a biblical framework.

God loves your pets immensely. In fact, God loves every creature that He created. Let’s look at an important verse that highlights this fact:

Revelation 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

Now, if God finds pleasure in His creation, and He is omniscient about all things, including the future, then of course God has a plan for our pets. It wouldn’t make sense for Him not to.

To expand on this, God isn’t going to allow billions of pets to be stranded and die. He is fully aware of their situation. Another verse to focus in on is:

Matt 10:29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.

If a sparrow does fall to the ground without the concern of the Father, do you really believe your poodle or Siamese cat is going to drop dead without God’s awareness? It’s just not going to happen.

The final thing that needs to be noted is that many of the animals may very well be translated to heaven. Why do I say that? Because scriptures like Isaiah 11:6-8 make it clear that there will be animals in heaven, and that they will have a new nature. It doesn’t specifically mention dogs and cats, but why not? If wolves can dwell with lambs, why can’t cats and dogs play together?

So, don’t panic over your pet’s safety or be concerned about whether you should own an adorable critter if you really would like to have one. Many animals need a good home with someone who will love and care for them, and adopting one will just make its life all the better and maybe even your own. Thank you for reading and God bless.
