God is a Redeemer and a Restorer and I Can Testify to That!

I have always heard that God is a redeeming God, but I longed to personally see it up close in my life. I have prayed for over 11 years that my son would be redeemed and that all that he lost in the “pigpen” of being a prodigal would return to him. I have also prayed during those 11 years that God would redeem my time with my son. So much time had been lost during those years. Time that I thought would never be returned. Periodically I would cry out to the Lord, “How will I ever get the lost time back?” Years would go by and I would feel discouraged and weary, believing the lie of the enemy, “You will never get back what has been lost.” I guess the enemy and myself for a brief period forgot that Jesus is in the business of taking back everything the enemy has stolen from us.

I would stand on these scriptures when the enemy whispered his lies to me:

I will restore to you the years the locusts have eaten-the crawling locusts, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust, My great army which I sent above you. You shall eat plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, who has dealt wondrously with you; and My people shall never be put to shame. Joel 2:25-26, NKJV

Instead of your shame you shall have double honor. And instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land they shall possess double; everlasting joy shall be theirs. Isaiah 61:7. NKJV

For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might REDEEM us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works. Titus 2:11-14, NKJV

Christ’s redeeming us opens the way for Him to purify us. REEDEM means to purchase our release from the captivity of sin.

Jesus Christ has come to redeem our sins through His shed blood on Calvary, and He also restores the time the enemy has robbed from us. I want to testify to this because I have witnessed God bringing redemption and restoration into my family. Two weeks ago, God brought my prodigal home. I am witnessing his redemption and restoration firsthand. We serve a mighty and loving Father. He does hear our prayers and cries to Him. There was a “test” for me before my son came home. Please read my article from two weeks ago, “When God asks you to sacrifice your Isaac on His altar,” to understand what the test was. Years ago I told God that if He ever brought my prodigal home, I would shout it from the rooftops! God has surpassed everything I have prayed for over the years, and God is restoring all the years the enemy has stolen with my son. It is if we have had an increase in our time together. We have eaten dinner every night together, played board games, watched movies together, prayed together and have went to church together. God is literally redeeming my son’s life and our lost times together, and I am a witness to this great and mighty love of God.

Keep believing God and His Word! Never give up on God and His promises!

What are you believing God for? Please let us know how we can pray for you and believe with you.
