Spank a Child in the way He should go

Today’s culture says bring up your child however you wish. Discipline such as spanking is abusive. Now if a parent spanks their children within reasonable limits; not out of rage to harm the child but out of love to correct the child. This parent would be considered abusive and unfit to raise their offspring.

The bible says in Proverbs 22:6” Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” It also states in Proverbs 13:24“Whoever spares the rod hates their children, but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them.” So the bible explicitly teaches us to spank our children as part of disciplining in their formative years.  We hate our children if we spare the rod from them according to this verse in Proverbs. We will truly love and care for them if we do spank them. I am not for abusive punishment by any means. I am an advocate for clearly defined scriptural spanking as defined in Proverbs 13:24 to correct a child and direct him in the way the Lord would have him walk. One should use spanking as a last resort and only if the negative behavior calls for such action.

Remember saints of God, that God corrects his children out of his great love for them and to keep them on his ordained path which is the best way for them to go . We the guardians of our children need to correct them as the Lord leads us to do so. Sometimes he does lead us to spank them. They are precious gifts from our Father. We cannot afford to spare the rod from our children when the occasion calls for the spanking to be invoked. We truly show our love for our children when we follow the biblical command to carefully use the rod on our little ones.

  1. Thank you for writing over this sensitive area. We have an entire generation that is lacking from a Godly discipline and the outcome has changed so much of our society today to be for the worse and not the better.
