Top 3 Reasons to fall in Love with Love

Isn’t love a beautiful thing? Or so they say… but C’mon, if you’re honest with yourself, you’ll admit that love is lovely. It is a fact that heartbreak is inevitable—and definitely no fun. Still, you would have had to experience true love to know what true heartbreak feels like. I am sure those moments of bliss while in love, was well worth it. So don’t ever let heartbreak and bitter cynicism cripple you from falling in love with love.

Jesus First Loved Us
The only man who walked on water, turned water into wine, healed the sick, and raised the dead… in short, the greatest man who ever lived, loves us unconditionally. Do you need any more reason to love, love? As broken and flawed as we all are, he loves us anyway. “I loved you at your darkest” (Romans 5:8). Jesus’ love is genuine and never-ending. He demonstrated the real meaning of love so that we can follow in his footsteps.

Gives Others a Special Feeling
It feels awesome to be loved. To know that out of all the people in the world, you were chosen to be cherished and cared for by someone. Talk about “One-in-a-million.” It’s nice to know that even though we’ve messed up and make numerous mistakes, we’re special enough to be loved. Being loved should always encourage us to reciprocate. Love is not self-seeking, but is inspiring and contagious. “Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.” (1 Peter 4:8)

1 Corinthians 13:4-7
The above passage of scripture encompasses all the good reasons to fall in love with love. Love is patient. Love is kind. It does not envy or boast. It’s not proud. It’s not rude, nor is it self-seeking. It’s not easily angered. It keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoice with the truth. It always protects, trusts, hopes, and perseveres. With this much benefit of loving and being loved, we ought a get busy genuinely loving, love!

With these top 3 reasons in mind, take a minute to really think about what this world would be like if we display genuine, unconditional love. This world would be better off if we shared love with others—the real way… just as how God intended. We wouldn’t be mean, rude, or unforgiving. If we were following God’s example of love, Satan wouldn’t be smiling this Valentine’s Day at our failed attempts of love.
