We are His Royal Children

Did you know Christians are going to receive crowns from our Lord?  When Jesus returns—He will give us the Crown of Life and the Crown of Righteousness. These crowns are rewards to look forward to when we go to heaven. The best thing about our crowns is that we will be able to put them at the feet of Jesus!

James 1:2(KJV)—Blessed is the man that endureth temptation; when he is tried, he shall receive the Crown of Life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love Him.

2 Timothy 4:8(KJV)—Henceforth there is laid up for me a Crown of Righteousness which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Proverbs 14:18 (KJV)–The simple inherit folly: but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.

1 Corinthians 9:25 (Amplified Bible)—Now every athlete who goes into training conducts himself temperately and restricts himself in all things. They do it to win a wreath that will soon wither, but we [do it to receive a crown of eternal blessedness] that cannot wither.

He crowns us during our lifetime with loving-kindness and tender mercies every day. His blessings out-weigh our troubles. This is why we say, “count your blessings, and your troubles will seem few.” The more we live for Him, the more joy we will experience. Knowing God is always near and only wants the best for me keeps me going; and I know I need not to fear my daily spiritual warfare. God is always victorious and I have victory because I know He loves me.

Each person has special duties to determine the discipline and denial that he or she must accept to get the job done.  It is wise to make God’s pleasure our number one goal.  We shall have to give up something we want in order to do God’s will.  His desire is stronger than any of our selfish wants.  Our denial of things seems like nothing compared to the eternal, imperishable rewards that will be ours. When He asks us to do something for Him, He also equips us with what we need to accomplish that task.

There may be things to complain about in this life on earth, but there is a lot to praise God for. He forgives our sins, heals our diseases, and redeems us from death. God, our Father in heaven, is our King of Kings. We, believers in Christ, are God’s holy, royal children.
