He Came

“But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the law and the prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, who God sent forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be the just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.”   (Romans 3:21-26)

He Came

It was a hallowed night long in coming.
A winter solstice celebration.
It was the resurgence of the Sun that was to come
And the cold Winter was finally being cast away.
The Springtime and Summertime would soon be here.
Being without the Sun’s warmth was about to end and with it,
The Light from Heaven that was promised to light the way for men!

Lessons of the new birth in Him were being taught.
Carols were being sung heralding His divine arrival.
Sin’s darkness would cover the land no more.
Salvation had come to those fallen in the Garden.
It was the beginning of the season of eternal preparations.
A new season of grace and a time of great divine expectations.
God incarnate had come and then was gone…He will soon come again!

What have we done with this good news that has come?
Paganism has been joined with God’s true Religion.
Bring all your gods, goddesses, rituals, and man-made rites!
The customs of God’s people are becoming so vain.
Traveling the way of the heathen with an axe we prepare,
Then we dress it all up in our shiny silver and gold.
Nails are then driven into it to prevent it from being spiritually moved!

But He did move!
He moved all Heaven and Earth!
The season became a time meant for all to be jolly.
A time for silver bells, mistletoe, wishes, and holly.
Ho Ho Ho and mystically colored lights mesmerize us
And ornaments decorate all in red and green in our sight.
All Christendom then says boldly…Merry Christmas and good night!

Set aside all your customs and get past all the glitter.
Be joyful and celebrate that peace on Earth has come.
It meant His deathly sacrifice in His first coming.
It was not the offering of a worthy victim.
He was a willing host to His own suffering.
But be ye warned my fellow believers and non,
He shall be both judge and conquering hero in His second coming!

God’s People are to be in waiting, tested and tried.
Looking back and Celebrating!
Celebrating what has come!
God’s People are to be in waiting, like a bride.
Looking ahead and anxiously anticipating!
Anticipating our Hope that is coming again!

Let all God’s People sing…

Oh, come to us our Savior Emmanuel.
In this barren wilderness, we endure and dwell.
Come to us our precious promised Lord and King.
Until that day comes, we shall both mourn and sing.

Let our mourning work itself out in it’s season.
Let us then rejoice as one’s you have chosen.
We know our sin and we live for Your grace.
Renew Your work in us ’til we see Your face.

We cry out to You…Oh, God to make things right.
We cry out to You…Oh, God give us pure sight.
Fulfilled and yet unfulfilled Your promises live.
Like dawn and sunrise, they are joined by Your light.

Hallelujah, ’tis the season.
Let all creation Celebrate!
Our Savior has come.
Exalt His great name.
Look to the horizon.
Repent and proclaim…
He’s coming again!
‘Tis the season to weep and mourn, do it now while you still can!

He must increase and us brought low.
Be glad in His eternal triumph!
God’s grace was decreed.
Sin now lay in defeat.
Adore Him in this trying season.
And to all exclaim…
With good news He came!
From a far distant land He came, sent by His Father with power to save!

Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son may also glorify You, as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him. And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work You have given me to do. And now, Oh Father, glorify Me, together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.   (John 17:1-5)
