Forgiveness Is Good For The Heart

The word forgiveness is a very hard word to either use or say. When was the last time you forgave someone for a wrong that they have done to you. We often wait for the person who has did the wrong to ask for forgiveness. The bible gives us ways that we should forgive.

Matthew 6:14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

It would be a very sad thing to go to your grave haven’t forgiven that person who has done you wrong. When your brother has done you wrong just remember that if Christ can forgive why can’t we.  Note what Paul tells us:

Ephesians 4:32  And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

When we don’t forgive we put ourselves in a cage. To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you. The problem is that we haven’t forgiven ourselves for the things we have done to ourselves. When we we do that forgiving others will be easy. If you want to be happy learn the art of forgiveness. To forgive is the highest most beautiful form of love. In return you will receive untold peace and happiness. When people of the world see those who are in the body of Christ forgive one another they can learn from us. These words should help us in forgiving. In the words of Jesus.

LUKE 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots

  1. Very important message. We do use this word throughout the week when we come before our Lord. It may even be a daily occurrence because we struggle with our sin nature. I am reminded of the saying that we have two natures but the strongest one is the one we feed.
Yet when it comes to others who deal with the same double natures, we are quick to judge and become offended which can make it difficult for another person to seek to ask forgiveness. We need to have a gentle spirit so we are approachable, just like we desire when we approach our Lord.

I like what you said about making ourselves a victim by putting ourselves in a cage without our knowledge that we are the captive until we learn the lesson that will bring freedom through the act of forgiving others. Until then we maul over the situation that this person caused, which takes away our joy and peace.

God bless you and use you to make a difference in others.

  2. Wonderful message!

    God Bless~
