There Is No Party In Hell

By Joel B.

To many people the idea of salvation seems silly. They think that it is “uncool” and that all the cool people will be partying in hell. I am here to tell you today that there is no party in hell. In fact, there will be nothing but eternal misery in hell. You won’t be able to hang out with your drinking buddies and you will surely wish you had not went down the miserable path leading to such agony. Let’s explore this further.

Matthew 8:12 describes hell as a place of outer darkness. It also says there will be weeping, and gnashing of teeth. That doesn’t sound like a party to me. It sounds like torment. Not a place I would want to go and surely not a place you should want to go. I mean, when I hear about torment that causes teeth to gnash, it reminds me of intense pain that makes you want to grind your teeth and that you wish would just end. However, there will be no end.

Matt 13:50 says that hell will be a furnace of fire. Can you imagine spending an eternity in a pitch black fire? This scripture also mentions the weeping, and gnashing of teeth again. This is no party. This is…well…hell. This is where the unconverted man goes who has decided to reject Christ.

Rev 14:10 tells us that there will be fire and brimstone. Have you ever smelled fire and brimstone? It’s not a pleasant smell, so I would imagine that hell has a rather foul odor to it that one would not want to experience. Not for a day, not for an hour, and not even for a minute.

Finally, Rev 14:14 tells us that hell never ends. You can’t beg your way out and you can’t bribe your way out. The chance to follow the Lord has ended. Heb 9:27 tells us that it is appointed on to man once to die and then the judgment. Once the judgment has fallen on you, then your end is sealed.

Friends, let’s be realistic. We all know that hell isn’t a party place. However, there is a place of eternal joy and that is with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. If you haven’t accepted Him as your Lord and Savior I would encourage you to do so today. If you need help with this, please visit the Romans Road to Salvation page on the website. Thank you for reading and God bless.

  1. Jesus told a true story of a man who went to hell. The story is found in Luke 16. He stated that this man was in tormented in the flame, thirsted for even a drop of water to cool his tongue, separated by a great gulf that is fixed so that none can pass over it, and requested that someone that was on the other side in a place of comfort would return from the dead so that they could warn his family about hell so that they didn’t come into this place of torment.
Jesus said that if one isn’t willing to hear the truth from the written word, they would not be persuaded to believe even if one were to rise from the dead to give them warning.

  2. People who think that hell is going to be a party love darkness more than light. They’re in a for a rude awakening unless they turn to Jesus. If Satan can disguise himself as an angel of light, then he can make his fate, hell, seem not really bad at all.
In Matthew 18:18 and in Mark 9:43-8, Jesus said that it’s better to enter life maimed than to go to hell with both arms or eyes. How could going to heaven maimed than being thrown into hell with all your body parts intact if hell is going to a fun party bash?
From what the Bible and the Church Fathers have described hell, hell is definitely no party at all. http://antiochian.org/1123706666

    • Correction: I meant How could going to heaven maimed be preferable to being thrown into hell with all your body parts intact if hell is going to be one, big, fun, party bash?

  3. I have always wondered where the “party-ers” think that the beer and whiskey are going to come from. Everything good comes from God, so in hell there will be nothing good; no water, no beer, no anything that we sinners now saved by grace imbibed in when we were in sorry state. Everything that we abused by choice are actually gifts from God to be used correctly with gratitude. Nothing will be in hell except misery, heat, and the ABSENCE of everything we ever wanted, including God Himself, who draws us to Him until our dying day. To God be the Glory!
