What It Takes To Be Happy

What It Takes To Be Happy

By Joel B.

Nehemiah 8:10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.

Many people are not content with life and are constantly on the hunt for material things. The truth is, You could hand them over a million dollars and they would want a million more. That is because true joy comes from the Lord; not from material possessions.

The best way to find joy in your life is to get plugged into the things of the Lord and then watch them multiply around you. You’ll see that the things that you pray for of a spiritual nature, like joy, peace, and humility, begin to bloom around you like flowers at springtime. It brings about a nice feeling of contentment because you can see that the Lord is able to use you since you have become a willing vessel. This will also bring you joy, because you will find your rest in Christ and you will also see others reap the benefits around you because of your fervent faith.

This isn’t necessarily a secret that I have told you. Many people know that if you get involved with spiritual things that good things will happen. However, people just do not want to let go or risk being persecuted by others. The problem with this thinking is that it lacks faith. God wants to prosper you and allow you to move forward. You can’t prosper if your mindset is that everything will go wrong. You have to trust in the Lord. He is your Rock and your Foundation.

Friends, I’m not telling you that it’s bad to want nice things. but these things have to absolutely be secondary in your life or they will become idols. If you like things like good coffee or nice vacations, that is fine. However, when you take that nice vacation, think about how you can spend it in a way that is pleasing to the Lord. Now if you go to that coffee shop you like, maybe you can have a bible study there. These are just some suggestions. There’s nothing wrong with being creative with your faith; just as long as you are serving the Lord.

In closing, getting plugged into spiritual things will certainly bring you happiness. The Lord will bless you and bring multiplication into your life. Don’t be afraid to step out in faith. Many people, including myself, do this every day and we find joy in our lives. It works. Don’t let spiritual wickedness cause you to back down from this way of thinking and tell you it doesn’t work, because it does. You should see results very quickly when you have faith. Thank you for reading and God bless.
