I’m All Ears-Speak To Me LORD!

Isaiah 30:21 And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.” This scripture offers a profound assurance of God’s guidance in our lives, promising that we will hear His voice directing us along the right path.

Our Continuous Guidance in Scripture

The Holy Bible is brimming with instances of God’s guidance. Proverbs 3:6 says, “In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Similarly, Psalm 32:8 assures, “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.”

Our Moral Reflection

We can assume and embrace the moral of Isaiah 30:21 as the importance of listening for and heeding God’s guidance. It teaches us that His Divine direction is not forceful -but soft and reassuring, like a loving calming whisper behind us, always present, and always patient. It is our discerning spirit that “hears” His Spirit that ultimately leads us to walk according to His ways, His commandments, His teachings, and His love.

Reflective Questions

  • How can we become more attuned to hearing God’s guidance in our lives?
  • What are the consequences of ignoring this divine direction?
  • In what ways can we discern between our will and God’s guidance?

 Our Overall Understanding

The overall lesson and understanding we get from Isaiah 30:21 is the gentle nature of God’s guidance. It is always there, waiting to be heard, requiring only our attention and willingness to follow. It teaches us that in the journey of life, when crossroads appear, we can trust in God’s direction to lead us to righteousness and peace. It tells us that no matter the direction in which we are going, He’s always there as our guiding light. It speaks to our hearts in all that we do and speak, today tomorrow and always.

He is our LORD. He is our LIFE. He is our EVERYTHING.

LORD – I’m listening!

Dear Sovereign Lord, whose voice whispered through the ages,
guide us, we pray, through life’s many stages.

Your Word is a lamp unto our feet, a light on our path,
help us to follow Your way and escape the aftermath.

In moments of decision, when we’re unsure where to go,
remind us of Your promise, the way You will show.

May we turn neither to the right or left do your will,
The courage to follow, the faith to be still.

For You are our Shepherd, and we are Your flock,
In the shadow of Your wings, we take refuge and stock.

As we journey onward, may Your Word be our guide,
and in the assurance of Your presence, may we abide.

For You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life,
In You, we find peace, in You, we find no strife.

We thank You for Your guidance, so gentle and clear,
help us to listen, please LORD help us to hear.

And LORD when our journey on earth is finally done,
lead us to Your kingdom, where eternal life is won.

In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
