God Has The Final Agenda

People have a lot of plans for the future of Planet Earth and for humanity. Consider these two headlines:

  • Globalists Have Another Event Planned In Pursuit of the Four D’s: Digitization, Dehumanization, Destruction, and Depopulation in 2024 will make 2023 look like a walk in the park (Leo Hohmann).
  • UN General Assembly head approves declaration to form a global pandemic authority with lockdown enforcement power(Natural News).

Other plans for the human race are the advancement of artificial intelligence, a cashless society, and a Middle East peace agreement, to name just a few. We are living in a period of rebellion apart from God, what I would call a “tower of Babel” time, like that in Genesis when people said, “let us make a name for ourselves” and think that “nothing they propose will be impossible for them,” and leaving God out (Genesis 11:3-11).

What is God’s response to all of this? Isaiah 2:11 says, “The haughty looks of man shall be brought low, and the lofty pride of man shall be humbled, and the Lord alone will be exalted in that day.” Psalm 2:1 & 4 continues, “Why do the nations rage and the people plot in vain?…He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord holds them in derision.” Proverbs 19:21 states, “Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.”

God has his own agenda which overrides what humans want to do. Ever since the beginning of creation, God has had a plan for the human race! It is very interesting that there are several organizations and individuals that are talking about a seven-year agenda in which to accomplish their goals. God also has a seven-year period of time soon to come upon Planet Earth. It’s called the Tribulation Period. This will be a time of God’s wrath against those who have rejected him, so that “the whole world may be held accountable to God”(Romans 3:19). First Timothy 2:4 says God “desires all people to be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth.” Author John Piper writes, “…Christ’s death was necessary to accomplish God’s global purposes in history.” He continues, “Christ died to save a great diversity of peoples. Sin is no respecter of cultures. All people have sinned. Every race and culture needs to be reconciled to God. As the disease of sin is global, so the remedy is global…As he planned his death, he embraced the world”(John Piper, “Fifty Reasons Why Jesus Came To Die,” Crossway Books, 2006, pages 108-109).

I will close with this quote from J.I.Packer. God’s “plans are made on the basis of a complete knowledge and control which extend to all things past, present and future, so that there can be no sudden emergencies or unexpected developments to take him by surprise…What God does in time, he planned from eternity. And all that he planned in eternity he carries out in time. And all that he has in his Word committed to himself to do will infallibly be done”(J.I.Packer, “Knowing God”, InterVarsity Press, 1973, pages 79-80).

  1. Hi John,

Excellent accounting of times past, present and to come. And that all things have purpose according to His plans, and His alone.
Thank you for this important message and reminder.

    God Bless~

  2. It is hard to take in that these leaders are out to destroy mankind instead of saving humanity. They gather to plot our destruction and this news is being brought to our attention. How evil is this that they raise themselves above the rest of the world and feel privileged to enrich themselves and believe that their lives are what matters.

It is hard for me to understand why we aren’t seeing a revolt against them but I am sure their wealth and power through military might could be the means that they can get away with their agenda.

Thank you for sharing this information and I have to say that this wasn’t a complete surprise to me as rumors have been circulating and free speech is being attacked to silence any rebels.

God is not in their thoughts even though some may claim a religious background. Praise the Lord that He knows the end from the beginning and He is the One really in control. Grateful that we have a Savior to lean upon and we have His word to guide us.

    • A verse I should have included is Psalm 33:10-11. “ The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing. He frustrates the plans of the peoples. The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of his heart to all generations.”

  3. I am so glad God has the final agenda. As we see all the current events shaping up to be ready for the 7-year tribulation, it is great to know that God knew about and planned all of this. He is still, and always will be, in control.

    Thanks for this great reminder.

  4. Thanks John for reminding us that the plans of people are so puny and pointless in comparison to the mighty, unstoppable plans of our God. Yes truly the Lord does bring the counsel of the nations to absolutely nothing.
I so enjoy your writing and find it very thought provoking.
