Did An Earthquake Keep Israel From Being Attacked?

On August 12, 2024, a major earthquake struck Syria and was felt in other parts of the Middle East. It happened on the same day that Israel was preparing for an imminent attack by enemy forces. That day was also the Jewish day of mourning called Tisha B’Av, the date on which both previous Jewish temples were destroyed in 586 BC and 70 AD. The earth shook on that very same day, collapsing tunnels and burying Hezbollah’s arsenals.

We are living at a time in history when not only is fulfilled prophecy converging, but also God is intervening in the events of humanity in ways that are becoming more obvious, at least to the remnant of people who are connecting the dots between prophecy and current events.

God is in control of world events and the timing of them. Prophecy revolves around Israel, so what happens there is very significant. The enemies cannot do any harm to Israel unless God allows it. He can use any means, including earthquakes, to disrupt the plans of humanity. Psalm 2:2,4-5 says, “The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against his Anointed…He who sits in heaven laughs, the Lord holds them in derision. Then he will speak to them in his fury…”  As concerns Israel, God is on guard 24 hours a day (Psalm 121:4). God has his own agenda, and there is nothing any human being can do to alter it. He will allow Israel to be attacked at some point, but he will intervene in such a way that the whole unbelieving and godless world will be left in stunned perplexity.

Some will recognize what is happening with Israel that there is Almighty God to be reckoned with, but many more will continue in their godless ways. The really good news is that many Jews will come to accept Jesus as their Messiah. God’s supernatural intervention should be a sign that God will deal with Israel and her enemies on his terms. Hopefully, it will serve as a stimulus for people to get their hearts right with the one true God who is able to not only protect Israel, but also to save a person’s soul.

How about you, dear reader? Is your soul right with your Creator? You have a choice to make. You can either choose to believe that things are a coincidence, or they are being orchestrated by God. Many are wondering about all the events and problems happening in our world and all at the same time in history. Is there a purpose behind them? God is “shaking” up the world through divine intervention, and trying to get the attention of those who have rejected him. If you are one who has, you can receive God’s grace. He is crying out to you saying, ”I love you, and I desire to be your Savior.” Romans 10:9 says, “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
