Jesus the Burden Carrier

Sweat pouring from your brow and your back is aching. The 30 year burden has taken you down and you don’t have an ounce of strength to go another inch! Flashback around 2000 years ago. Jesus hanging in agony on the cross; blood and sweat pouring from his body. His pain is unbearable and his loneliness only God can explain. Worst of all Jesus is separated from His Father because He became our sin.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. ”Matthew 11:28-30

Jesus died on Calvary and took our sin away forever. Part of the package is He will supernaturally carry our burdens for us. The financial chaos that whirls around us Jesus will take it! The above verses in Matthew speak loudly of the Lord’s desire to carry and resolve our daily burdens for us. The hardest part for us is to give the load to Jesus. When we worry about the problem we have control of it and we try and resolve it ourselves. We solve it we can quantify the solution. Jesus solves it and we cannot quantify, control or see the solution always as fast we would like. Faith sets the power of God in motion and He delivers us from the burdens of life. The answer is not immediately visible than Jesus gives us the supernatural peace to walk while He resolves the issue.

Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken. Psalm 55:22

Here again the principle is clear cast the burden to the Lord and He will not allow us to be shaken or worried. Jesus paid too dear a price for us too not commit every care to Him. He just waits in heaven for us to come to Him and cast all our care on Him. God didn’t design us to fret and worry over the cares of life.

Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.1Peter 5:7

Our message is clear in these verses that the Lord came to give us life and to give it abundantly. Part of the blessing of our salvation is to give the cares of life over to God. We say to Him we trust Him when we abandon them to Him. The bible tells us God is delighted by our faith. What would please God more than His children casting every care to Him?

Jesus took the burden of the whole world’s sin for us. If He did this great work then won’t He carry any burden for us? Yes! He said His burden was light and His yoke was easy for us to carry. His yoke is easy and our burdens are too heavy for us to carry. So let go today!

What burden do you want to cast to the Lord right now?
