The thought came to mind recently that Hamas and Haman are very similar, so I did some research. Haman is mentioned in the Book of Esther, and he was the instigator of a plot to kill the Jews, during the time of the Persian Empire headed by King Xerxes from 486-465 BC. “Letters were sent by couriers to all the king’s provinces with instruction to kill, and to annihilate all Jews, young and old, women and children, in one day…and to plunder their goods”(Esther 3:13). The plot was fortunately revealed by Mordecai, with the help of Esther. The Book of Esther is not only a history book, but also a story of history repeating itself. Persia is modern day Iran, which supports Hamas and Hezbollah.
“The genocidal and petty spirit of Haman-who descended from the arch enemies of ancient Israel, the Amalekites” is the “same spirit at work in the terrorist group and ruling entity of the Gaza Strip-Hamas.(MessianicBible)” The Hebrew translation of Hamas means “to take by violence.”
There has always been hatred toward the Jews, but the level and intensity of violence has risen to a new level not suitable for even an R-rated movie. One wonders how some people could become so evil, but it says in II Timothy 2:13 that in the last days, “evil men and seducers will get worse and worse.” Both this war and the uptick in violence are prophetic indicators of being closer to the Tribulation Period than ever before in history.
We know that God is on the side of Israel. Her enemies have stated that they will wipe Israel off the face of the earth. Well, that will never happen! It is the time clock of Bible prophecy. It has been said that if one wants to know about End Time events just keep your eyes on Israel. This war is only the beginning of what the world will witness in the coming months and years, but God is going to intervene in ways that will show the Jewish people and the rest of the world that he is in control! Israel’s enemies will all be soundly defeated through supernatural acts of God.
Not only will Israel’s enemies all be defeated, but the tide of hatred of Jews will eventually turn, when the one-world government is ruled by Jesus himself, and Jerusalem becomes the capitol of the world. This will be the 1000 years of peace and righteousness, following the Tribulation Period. Yes, folks, this is what the Bible says.
“At that time Jerusalem shall be called the throne of the Lord, and the nations shall gather to it, to the presence of the Lord in Jerusalem, and they shall no more follow their own evil heart”(Jeremiah 3:17). Then we read in Zechariah 8:23, “In those days, ten men from the nations of every tongue shall take hold of the robe of a Jew, saying, ’Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.’”
I will close with Philippians 2:10-11. “At the name of Jesus every knee shall bow, in heaven and on earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” God controls the final agenda and gets the last word!
