真正的波浪力量

When I was young, I lived opposite the sea in my hometown of Morecambe in the UK.
我小时候，在英国家乡莫克姆住在海的对面。

One of the things that fascinated me, were the tides. Morecambe bay is a tidal bay, the tides come in and out twice per day.
让我着迷的一件事就是潮汐。莫克姆湾是一个潮汐湾，每天潮水来回两次。

I loved to walk along the sea front and wait for the tide to hit the sea wall, just before a wave hit the sea wall, I would run away to avoid getting soaked, this didn’t always work and I arrived home soaked at times, much to my parents frustration.
我喜欢沿着海滨散步，等待潮水撞上海堤，就在浪头撞上堤坝之前，我会跑开以免被淋湿，但这并不总是成功，有时候我回到家全身湿透，让父母很无奈。

The power of the waves amazed me and they still do.
海浪的力量让我惊叹，直到现在依然如此。

Years ago world surfing champion Kelly slater and his team made a man made wave, but these wonders were created by God.
多年前，世界冲浪冠军凯利·斯莱特和他的团队制造了人造波浪，但这些奇观都是上帝创造的。

I have stood next to Niagara falls and several other waterfalls, the sound of the waves is incredible, but it is nothing to the power of God.
我曾站在尼亚加拉大瀑布和其他几个瀑布旁边，浪涛的声音令人难以置信，但与上帝的力量相比，这算不了什么。

We look at places like Niagara and the waves of the sea and say isn’t this wonderful?

But do we realise that these incredible things pale in comparison to the power of God?
但我们是否意识到，这些令人惊叹的事物与上帝的力量相比都显得微不足道？

People falsely praise the creation instead of the creator.
人们错误地赞美受造物，而不是造物主。

Next time you stand by the side of a waterfall or see the powerful waves, think to yourself that they are nothing compared to the power of God.
下次你站在瀑布旁边或看到强大的海浪时，心里要想：与上帝的力量相比，这些根本不算什么。
