Difficult Times As These

Have you ever been at your lowest or even saddened about what’s going on in the world today or just with life period? I ask this because my heart saddens each time I turn on the TV. Our younger generation is losing its way, families are against one another, violence, drugs, you name it, and its happening.  Even with sadness, God’s word sticks with me. It say’s that He will never leave nor forsake us.

Heb 13:5  Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Matt 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

My heart is hurting. I cry unto the Lord because this world is falling apart. Somewhere along the way parents have stopped being parents, the younger generation is so full of hatred, they don’t show respect, and lack guidance  Paul spoke of these times, a time of distress we are in.  We must get back to praying until we see results. Stop being ashamed to pray in public. We must take control of the situation. Take our kids back from the world. Parents, somewhere many of you have lost place in this, but its not too late. As Christians we must help those that are lost, especially our younger generation. We must preach to this generation that has gone astray, not to beat them down but build them up. We can’t compromise our faith, and we must be steadfast while preaching and spreading the gospel.

2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

Even in these difficult times we need to trust the Lord because he will renew the strength of those who find hope in Him so that we may soar on wings like eagles and not grow weary (Isa 40:31). My heart is heavy and my emotions are taking over just thinking about these times.  As a mother of two sons, 26 and 19, my heart saddens knowing they are growing up in a society that’s losing its way, and we parents need to stand up and take control of the situation, which includes teaching and praying for them constantly.

Right now my emotions are taking over because so much is going on. Even in these times our God will give us Peace and Comfort even in the worst of circumstances. God be with our people, hear my cries and prayers.

What can we do as Christians to help the lost without beating them up but showing them the way to go?

  1. Hi Kim: I spent 5 years speaking in the chapel of my local mission to the homeless and hurting. But I think of all the hurting people who are NOT at the mission. They are going to jobs, living in nice homes, driving nice cars, and even sitting in our churches. Just taking time out to listen to their hurts can be of help. Then we can identify with them by being transparent and honest with others about our own struggles. I am on the TBL writing team. Thanks for sharing your heart.

You are correct. We all have struggles, everyone struggle might boot be the same but one thing we can all do is Pray. In order to help others we must first be true to self. Thanks John for your post.

  3. Kim, this is so true. Did you see the post of the little 4 year old boy who cussed his grandmother and was doing his hands like rappers. I was so floored I just cried. The YOUNG mother was sitting there with dismay on her face and as though she had no control. God help us. This is our prayer.

    • Dr. Mamie Jordan Hughes I saw it today. We just have to pray for one another. My heart hurts everyday because somewhere down the road many people have lost faith, and stop praying. Thank you.

  4. I love all your post sis Kim…may God always bless you and use you to inspire others. Praying for you always
