Evidence of His Residence

Some days are just plain tough.  They are overrun with challenges and personal shortfall and can make a person who wants to please Jesus feel, well, disappointed in themselves.  We aren’t alone in our disappointment.  Paul, one of Jesus’ greatest servants, told us in Romans 7:19 that he often found himself doing the very things he didn’t want to do and not doing the things he did want to do.  But our God, who is great in mercy, sees our humanity and applies His great grace to our shortfall.  However, He doesn’t want us to get comfortable in that shortfall.  He has informed us of the fruit of His Holy Spirit’s presence.  If we will cooperate with the Holy Spirit’s work in our lives, we will be much more likely to carry a smile into the final hours of our day.  Ponder these encouraging words and see if you don’t have a much more positive day.

                                                God’s people walk around these days

                                             Not letting Him direct their ways

Wrong choices make them look just like the world

But God has something better planned

He needs His kid’s to understand

He wants their lives to show His grace unfurled…

Live your life filled with His love

Let His joy flow from above

Let His peace keep you calm and sane

When storms of life cause floods of pain

Be patient when you’re aggravated

Gentle when you’re agitated

Let others see the evidence of His residence

Keep doing good to those in need

Let self-control guide every deed

In meekness, simply move aside

Pushing past your foolish pride

Always step out in simple faith

Not caring what may be your  fate

let others see the evidence of His residence

Love, joy, peace and patience, gentleness, goodness, self-control

Meekness and simple faith – Spirit fruit let it be your goal

Cause when His Spirit guides your every action

Your life will bring Him satisfaction

Let others see the evidence of His residence
