The first sermon I ever preached had the title of “Our ultimate authority”. It was over a couple verses in 2 Timothy that I think really provide the believer a solid assurance that the Bible is the actual words of God written to his people.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
This is the truth. That God’s word is from his breath and is all we need for our lives. This truth remains the center of our lives. Believer or unbeliever. If these truths are cast aside, we will no longer live in a just society.
True truth is a term made popular by an American author in and around the 1970’s. This was his definition of true truth, “objective, absolute reality as revealed by God in the Bible, existing regardless of human opinion”. In today’s culture this idea that there is an objective truth that governs the whole of the human race is largely rejected. When those rights given us by our creator are disregarded so then is the moral compass that guides all of us to live in a just society.
This is why it is imperative we who preach the truths in the Bible preach and teach them clearly and expositionally. We see a glimpse of this in the Old Testament as well.
Nehemiah 8:1 And all the people gathered themselves together as one man into the street that [was] before the water gate; and they spake unto Ezra the scribe to bring the book of the law of Moses, which the LORD had commanded to Israel.
Nehemiah 8:8 So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused [them] to understand the reading.
This passage in Nehemiah 8 comes after they had rebuilt the city walls. One pastor named H.B Charles Jr. said in a sermon “They rebuilt the walls now they rebuild the people”. This is what God’s word does. Rebuilds His people. Refreshes their zeal and renews their minds.
I pray that we all would take God’s word more seriously and study it more diligently.
The Bottom Line, Ministries Christian News, Articles, & Poetry

It seems that people choose to erase truth because their desires are continuously evil. This approach not only gives them license but attempts to take away guilt. There always has to be order in everything including creation. No one should think that the mumble jumble way of life can make sense. The lines are blurred. Order must be present.
When people don’t want to be honest about bad things other people do by saying that it is up to the each individual, instead of calling it wrong for everyone, they are only stating a false narrative because they don’t want to be truthful to themselves.
They aren’t being truthful to themselves as a cover up for their own practices.
If there isn’t truth then what happens to justice in this world? The world continues in a chaotic state.
Great message.
