The World Needs You

Here’s a riddle: Where is the wealthiest place on this earth? Interestingly, it probably lies just a few blocks from your house, and has a lot to do with dirt!

In his book, Devotional and Journal; 365 Days to Understanding, Releasing, and Maximizing Your Potential, Myles Munroe wrote; “The richest deposit on our planet is your local cemetery or graveyard. Buried beneath the soil are dreams that never came to pass, songs that were never sung, books that were never written, paintings that never filled a canvas, ideas that were never shared, visions that never became a reality, inventions never designed, and purpose never fulfill.”

Think about it. God has blessed each and every one of us with unique gifts or talents. “And there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills.” (1 Corinthians 12: 6-11) However, we don’t always do everything we can to utilize these gifts in order to maximize our potentials.

There will be obstacles, stumbling blocks, and various distractions that may cause you to retreat and hide your talents. Fear and doubt may cause you to lose hope which may lead to you quitting on your dreams. But then if you do that, you’re only suffocating your potential while wasting God’s gift. It doesn’t take much for you to share your talent with the world; all that’s required is for you to believe in yourself and trust God’s word declaring you can do anything through Christ who gives you strength. You really don’t need the approval of others.

Food for thought: What would the world be missing out on, if you weren’t born? What will the world lack if you do not live out your potential? It could be the cure for cancer…the best teacher ever…a best seller novel… it could even be your invention of flying bicycles or revolving houses! Only you know where your talent lies. You know the dream you want to turn into a reality. So step outside of your comfort zone, and walk into your full potential now.
