Dancing Stars & Watchful Eye

Dancing stars twinkling high up in the sky.
And there you are always protecting with a watchful eye.

The whooshing sound of the rushing wind tickles my ear.
I know you are with me my LORD; you are always right here.

You calm my mind completely while I drift to slumber in my bed.
Your loving promises and words are all in the Bible written in red.

Your only begotten Son, brought here for me.
Jesus suffered, died and resurrected to set me free.

Who am I to be so blessed to know I have a God above all?
I have someone who will cover me and pick me up when I fall.

Miracles, and loving acts You performed still to this day.
You are with me, and I know that you will always stay.

Oh, but I could see Your face, my very soul LORD You embrace.
It is You alone that gives me the strength for anything to face.

The world is a consuming and restless vortex of haste.
I need Your direction and Your love, not a second to waste.

Anxiety and worry shall not be so.
Your Words assure me and this I know.

Witness of Your Spirit freely and totally abound.
I was born again by You, no longer lost, but found.

You are a Paragon of truth, virtue, holy and pure.
I will never stop loving You, of this, I’m sure.

How can I put into words, the enormity of who You are?
Creator of the Universe, and all things here close and far.

My Rock of ages, sweet breath elixir in which I thrive.
You bring joy, composure, and make me feel alive.

Mountains move, nothing is impossible with You.
You do all things and more, this is beyond true.

Oh, merciful Father, to you alone I meditate and pray.
I know in my heart you always listen to what I say.

Fleeting moments of time here on earth go by.
One day I will be called home, but never shall die.

Because Your love and promises and blood set me free.
And eternal life is the reward of which you said shall be.

Hallelujah and Amen and Amen!
I’ll repeat and say it again and again!

For now, I’m content watching stars twinkling high up in the sky.
Knowing there you are always protecting with a watchful eye.

Psalm 36:7 -How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.

Jude 1:24 -Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

  1. A very powerful poem! You seemed to capture the beauty of God and His Majestic characteristics. Yet His attention and tenderness that we read about in His word shows us His heart towards His creation in all the details for our survival,
Sadly He is ignored as people rush through their day from dawn to dusk. Many don’t even look up in the sky and pause. They have seen it enough times and it holds little significance or understanding but the sun, moon, and stars were put there for a purpose on our behalf to bring forth signs, seasons, days, and years. We wouldn’t even exist without these things. That is why He made us last of all but made us unique from other living creatures because He breathed in us the breath of life and we became a living soul made in His image to have fellowship with Him.
In His mind He knew the future of humanity and the needs this world would have to survive. I think about the stars being used to navigate the ships on the sea in the night; all the more if they were fighting restless waves in a storm. Imagine if those lights were not up there.
It is like a picture of the Lord’s brilliance shining forth out of a black universe reminding me that when I look up in the night sky that He is up there looking down and someday we will be up there too.
In my thoughts it is a picture of Jesus coming to a dark world to shine His light into our hearts and when we accept His word He shows us how to navigate through this world as the captain of our souls and we make it to the shore of Heaven. Yes, in life we too have restlessness but with His presence we find the calmness only He can give for He brings real peace and hope for our existence.
Loved your article greatly and it made me reflect on these things. Thank you.

  2. Hello Cora,

Your words are beyond appreciated… truly…Thank you!
I love how you described the essence of God and how the poem spoke to your heart about the LORD.

Your thoughts, once again added another layer of how “great God is.”

You, my very own Barnabus, are such an encourager, I’m blessed you take the time to reflect and comment.

    God Bless you my friend~

  3. You have so beautifully expressed what is really hard to say in words. He is the all-sufficient One who knows us, and reveals himself to us through Creation and through His Word. He loves, comforts, and sustains us day by day. He has given us His love letter, the Bible. One of the biggest marvels to me is that God, in all His power and glory, wants us to talk to Him and pray. Most important people (in the world’s eyes) would never talk to me. But He talks to me and listens to me. Wow!

Thank you for your beautiful portrayal of God through poetry!
