Has Bible Prophecy Taken A Giant Leap Forward?

There is a prophecy in the Old Testament Book of Ezekiel that says in the last days battles will be fought on horseback.  “… I will bring you out, and all your army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed in full armor, a great host, all of them with buckler and shield, wielding swords”(Ezekiel 38:4). “ You will come from your place out of the uttermost parts of the north, you and many people with you, all of them riding on horses, a mighty army. You will come up against my people Israel like a cloud covering the land, in the latter days I will bring you against my land…” (Ezekiel 38:15-16).

I, along with others who have followed up Bible prophecy, have always wondered with all the technology and weapons of mass destruction, why would a war be fought with horses? They had to be representative of something else that the apostle John was unable to describe 2000 years ago.

This has all changed because Russia is now developing “horse warfare” with horse-mounted assault teams. This has been taken from Russian military resources, and footage. As of 2021 Russia had an estimated 1.3 million horses. If this is true, Bible prophecy has taken a giant leap forward. The fact that Russia is reportedly developing these horse teams, and the Bible predicted this over 2000 years ago, is another specific example of how divinely inspired the Bible truly is! This prophecy can be taken literally instead of symbolically. How exciting is that!

If my End Times theology is correct, the war mentioned in Ezekiel will be the final assault by Russia and her allies on Israel, during or around the time of the Tribulation Period. (So much for peace in the Middle East). Prophecy scholar Ron Rhodes says the “the invasion will likely take place sometime after the rapture, but before the beginning of the tribulation period.” (1) Of course, no one really knows for sure when this will happen. However, whenever this does happen, either way you look at it, we are one big step closer to the rapture of the Church.

Adding this to all the other prophecies that have been fulfilled or are in the process of being fulfilled at this time of history, the verse in Luke 21:28 stands out. “When these things begin to take place, straighten up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.” All Christians, especially pastors, need to develop a mindset for fulfilled prophecy, because the world events are all leading in the direction of Jesus calling us up into his presence. Even some secular people are wanting to know where the world is headed. However, most people, including Christians, are going about their daily business and routine with no awareness of where the world is headed, and are not reading the Bible to find out. Things are happening very rapidly with the fulfillment of prophecy, and if the prophecy in Ezekiel is being fulfilled literally, being in the presence of the LORD could be sooner than we think.
