6你们的言语要常常带着和气，好像用盐调和，就可知道该怎样回答各人。

吸引人归向耶稣或使人远离耶稣

Life is short.. very short.

生命是短暂的。很短。

We have a very limited time on earth, and we are to take every single opportunity we have to reach as many people as we can.

我们在地球上的时间非常有限，我们要抓住每一个机会，帮助让尽可能多的人。

We have numerous opportunities to share our faith.. some are with people; we will probably never come into contact with again.. they are fleeting.

我们有很多机会分享我们的信仰。有些是和人在一起;我们可能再也不会联系到……它们转瞬即逝。

So many times, I go out without literature in my pocket, now being an Englishman in China, means I can’t converse in depth with the Chinese, but I can Say YESUAINI.. JESUS LOVES YOU.. and offer them a piece of literature. The probable reason I don’t take literature.. apart from being very forgetful, is that I don’t expect God to work and bring anyone across my path.

很多时候，我出门时口袋里没有字典，作为一个在中国的英国人，这意味着我不能和中国人深入交谈，但我可以说YESUAINI…耶稣爱你…给他们一篇宣传手册。我不选字典的原因可能是……除了非常健忘之外，还有我不指望上帝会让任何人带来我的道路。

Paul in his final words to Timothy and Peter also to the churches said these things

保罗在给提摩太和彼得的最后的指示中，也对众教会说了这些话

2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.

15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

15只要心里尊主基督为圣。有人问你们心中盼望的缘由，就要常作准备，以温柔、敬畏的心回答各人。

These verses tell us that in all our contacts with people, we can even put people off by how we approach them and certainly by our mannerisms and attitude.

这些经文告诉我们，在我们与人的所有接触中，我们甚至可以通过我们接近他们的方式，当然还有我们的举止和态度来让人们排斥。

But especially by our speech, we want so much to share the gospel, that we forget that the hearer has legitimate questions, they want to hear of that hope that lies within you.

但尤其是在我们的传道中，我们太想要分享福音，以至于我们忘记了听众有合理的问题，他们想要听到你内心的希望。

We seek to virtually throw it down people’s throats.. without listening to them.. that’s why we have two ears and one mouth.

我们试图把我们的讲道直接从人们的喉咙扔下去……不听他们的……这就是为什么我们有两只耳朵和一张嘴。

How many people have been put off by our attitude, but especially by our speech, we speak over them, we push our literature in their face.? we even run after them begging them to take a tract.

有多少人被我们的态度，尤其是我们的言辞所排斥，我们凌驾于他们之上，我们把我们的宣传手册推到他们面前。我们甚至追着他们求他们拿走。

Did Jesus ever do that?.

耶稣曾经这样做过吗?

Did the apostle Paul or Peter or Stephen?

使徒保罗，彼得，司提反曾经这样做过吗?

They spoke firmly and truthfully, but they spoke with graciousness and sensitivity.

他们说得坚定而信实，但又亲切而真切。

Our job when we witness is to draw people to Jesus not drive people away from Him

当我们作见证的时候，我们的工作是吸引人们归向耶稣，而不是驱赶人们远离祂。
