In Memory Of Charlie Kirk

Much is coming across the Internet about Charlie Kirk expressed in a multitude of comments. His assassination has lit a fire in the lives of many, a fire proclaiming his message that will burn for many years to come.

He was a very bold man willing to take questions before audiences who held opposite views, but answered them with common sense and in a respectful manner. This is the way it ought to be done. There may be more common ground than people would like to believe by having constructive conversations. Right now America has more unity than it has had in a long time. While the average Christians are sitting in pews at church, Charlie was out talking to the masses of people and confronting issues that most Christians don’t want to talk about.

Charlie Kirk was on college and university campuses, the most significant place to be, because  this is where the new future leaders of America and the world are, and critical thinking is formed in the minds of our young adults.  They were learning the value of dialogue instead of demonstrations. It was OK if someone disagreed with him. College students were learning that disagreement does not mean hatred. From watching videos he took on some very difficult people, and they reveal the kind of twisted thinking he was confronted with.

Here are two Bible verses that Charlie exemplified.

Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your father who is in heaven”(Matthew 5:16).

“Walk in wisdom toward non-believers, making the best use of the time. Let your speech always be seasoned with salt so that you may know how you ought to answer each person”Colossians 4:6).

The world is not the same as it was before this happened! Not only is there much unity, but the world is witnessing the huge difference between righteousness and evil. No longer should people call evil good, and good evil. From what I have read, many of those who laughed at Charlie’s assassination are being fired from their jobs. The truth is prevailing. Dialogue is good. Killing is evil. It’s that simple. What happened to Charlie Kirk is equal to what happened to Martin Luther King, Jr. They both were assassinated for simply speaking out.

The outpouring of support in memory of Charlie far outweighs all of the evil ones who are protesting. Over 30,000 new chapters of Turning Point USA have been requested. I have watched videos showing throngs of people in countries all over the globe holding vigils in the streets. Thousands are once again attending church (I hope it is a true church that preaches the gospel).

Let’s all continue to pray for Charlie’s wife and two children. Let’s pray for all those involved in this global movement, and that all of us will boldly converse with people of all opinions and views in a respectful manner. “ Now Lord look upon their threats and grant to your servants to continue to speak your word with all boldnes”(Acts 4:29).

Let’s all keep the fire burning brightly!

  2. Wonderful depiction that illustrates how believers should respond to a world that is in danger for lack of reasonable behavior, respecting other people’s rights and opinions, or making friends, not enemies.
The natural man is drawn towards rebellion, reckless behaviors, and self destruction.
Evil acts are on display when tensions arise which gives way to destroying property, looting, and doing harmful things to any opposition.
If people could just stop acting out and accepting that there are alternative ways to look at issues instead of blindly being lead into deception but people tend to believe what pleases them.
Being open to receiving factual evidence shows that certain people are choosing to be more honest and willing to accept truths. They are searching for right thinking and willing to be corrected.
Your article resonates as a ‘how to ‘ way of approaching the world by the manner we saw in Charlie Kirk. The way that pleases Jesus. Not with hostility but honesty .
