57 And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain man said unto him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.

59 And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.

60 Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.

61 And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house.

62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
62 耶稣对他说：“手扶着犁向后看的，没有一个配进神的国。”

但是……但是……但是

Jesus calls us to radical discipleship, the reasons given by the last two people seem very reasonable, after all aren’t we supposed to respect our parents?
耶稣呼召我们作彻底的门徒，最后两个人的理由看似合理，毕竟我们不是应该尊敬父母吗？

The first man wanted to follow Christ, but Jesus told him that he would lose his comfortable life. When we follow Jesus, we leave our comfort zone. Jesus had no place to lay His head, He had no comfy bed to lie in. He was saying to the first man, you want to follow Me, do you? Realize this, if you do follow Me, you may have no place to lay your head, earlier in Luke 9, Jesus makes this strong statement.
第一个人想跟随基督，但耶稣告诉他，他将失去舒适的生活。当我们跟随耶稣时，我们会离开舒适区。耶稣没有枕头的地方，没有舒服的床可以躺。他对第一个人说，你想跟随我吗？要明白，如果你跟随我，你可能没有地方枕头。早在路加福音9章，耶稣就发表了这个强烈的声明：

23 And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.

24 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.
24 因为凡要救自己生命的，必失去生命；凡为我失去生命的，必救自己的生命。
25 For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself?
25 人若赚得全世界，却丧了自己或赔上自己，有什么益处呢？”

Jesus said many times people had to count the cost, are you prepared to count the cost?
耶稣多次说，人们必须计算代价，你准备好计算代价了吗？

The final two said they would follow Jesus, BUT gave reasons, why they couldn’t. The first one said he had to bury his father, was his father dead? If he was dead, then this son, had to stay with the family for one year after his death, he said he would follow, but in his time, he wanted to set the agenda, he wanted to say to Jesus, I will serve you, but in my time. It doesn’t work like that.
最后两个人说他们会跟随耶稣，但却给出了不能跟随的理由。第一个人说他要埋葬父亲，他的父亲死了吗？如果死了，那么这个儿子必须在父亲死后留下来一年。他说他会跟随，但要按他的时间，他想自己设定计划，他想对耶稣说，我会服侍你，但要按我的时间。这行不通。

Obedience has to be immediate; God sets the agenda- not us.
顺服必须是即时的，神设定计划，而不是我们。

The second man made another excuse, he said but let me first go bid them farewell
第二个人又找了个借口，他说：但容我先回去向家里的人告别。

He put himself before anything else, it seems he cared about his family, when in fact, he didn’t want to lose his comfort.
他把自己放在首位，看似关心家人，实际上他不想失去舒适。

Jesus makes it clear that you cant start something and then turn back, you do one thing or another, you either follow Christ or you don’t.
耶稣清楚地说，你不能开始一件事然后回头，你要么做一件事，要么做另一件事，你要么跟随基督，要么不跟随。

He makes this clear in this passage:

28 For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it?
28 你们哪一个要盖一座楼，不先坐下计算花费，看能否盖成？
29 Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him,
29 不然，立了根基却不能完成，看见的人都要嘲笑他，
30 saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish.’
30 说：‘这个人开始建造，却不能完工。’
31 Or what king, going out to encounter another king in war, will not sit down first and deliberate whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand?
31 或者哪一个王要去和另一个王打仗，不先坐下思量，自己带着一万兵，能否抵挡那领两万兵来攻的呢？
32 And if not, while the other is yet a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks for terms of peace.
32 若不能，就趁敌人还远的时候，派使者去求和。
33 So therefore, any one of you who does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple.
33 这样，你们若不撇下一切所有的，就不能作我的门徒。
Count the cost, Jesus repeats this over and over to the crowds, he lost followers because he said it.
计算代价，耶稣反复对众人说这话，因此他失去了许多跟随者。

14 “Now therefore fear the Lord and serve him in sincerity and in faithfulness. Put away the gods that your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord.
14 “现在你们要敬畏耶和华，诚心实意地事奉他，将你们列祖在大河那边和在埃及所事奉的神除掉，去事奉耶和华。
15 And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
15 若你们以为事奉耶和华不好，今日就可选择所要事奉的，是你们列祖在大河那边所事奉的神呢，还是你们所住这地亚摩利人的神呢？至于我和我家，我们必定事奉耶和华。”

Jesus says:
If you follow me, you must count the cost, are you prepared to count the cost?
耶稣说：
若你跟随我，你必须计算代价，你准备好计算代价了吗？
