No Cross, No Crown

It is the hope of each and everyone of us to one day to make it to heaven. But we all have to give an account of what we have done here on earth. In some churches we sing a song that goes like this “I SHALL WEAR A CROWN WHEN THE TRUMPET SOUNDS. ” In order to get this crown we have to make some sacrifices. Jesus tells us in Matthew 26:24-26:

Then Jesus told His disciples. If you would come after me ,let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.  For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever shall lose his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul.

The problem lies in denying ones self. The Apostle Paul said it great in Philippians 3:8 “Indeed I count everything loss.” If we want to see Jesus then we must give up everything to follow Him. That means mother, father, brother, and sister. That doesn’t mean you love them less but you love Jesus more. When it comes to that we leave this world we can say like the apostle Paul in 2 Timothy 4:7-8” I have fought a good fight, I have finished my race, I have kept the faith. “Now there is stored up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord of righteous shall give me on that day. ” So let’s do the work so we can receive our crown. If Jesus had to carry a cross then we need to carry a cross too. God gave His all so what will you give?
