1 Thessalonians 4:11 Study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you.
Reflection: There was a time when quietness was a virtue. The gentle homemaker, the faithful laborer, the quiet elder who prayed in secret—these were honored roles. Communities once leaned on the wisdom of the meek, the strength of the steady, and the grace of those who served without applause. But today, the loudest voices often drown out the quiet ones. Social platforms reward spectacle. Silence is mistaken for weakness. Even caregiving, once revered, is now seen by some as a lesser path.
Roles have shifted. The homemaker is questioned. The elder is overlooked. The one who chooses simplicity over ambition is asked to explain themselves. Yet God’s Word remains unchanged. He still honors the quiet steward, the faithful worker, the one who labors in love and peace. The world may stigmatize what God sanctifies, but the Spirit still whispers in stillness, Hallelujah!
The “influencers” in this world are really not “influencing” in ways to promote one’s spiritual growth, most times it might be the polar opposite in fact. The need to engage in the Word on all levels becomes more evident as we look around in this world, and see the misinformed, and spiritually lost individuals seemingly walking around in abysmal ignorance, drowning in stagnation due to the lack of the Word and His truth.
Let us not be discouraged by the loud displaced noise. Let us remember that Heaven sees what earth forgets. The quiet ones are not invisible to God. Their prayers, their service, their gentle routines are recorded in eternity. And so too their rewards!
“LORD, in a world that rewards noise and spectacle, teach us to value quietness again. Help us to honor the roles You still bless—caregiving, homemaking, faithful labor, and gentle stewardship. Let us not be swayed by shifting culture but anchored in Your Word. May we find peace in simplicity, and strength in stillness. Restore dignity to the overlooked and remind us that You see what others miss. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
The Bottom Line, Ministries Christian News, Articles, & Poetry

When people are at peace with God, their focus is different and the world can make a lot of clanging noise but we can muffle those sounds that are crude, rude, indecent, slanderous, and foolish. Their behaviors say more than what is spoken.
Human life is not valued by those who are takers. Their goal is to get all they can at any cost. Love of money and pleasure outrank everything else that would get in their way. Been that way since sin entered into the heart of man.
Yes, this world is a disgrace with more yet to come yet we know that this world with all its corruption will pass away.
And we won’t have to deal with this madness in time when we leave this world for our future home that Christ is preparing for those who have placed their trust in Him.
Hold unto a wholesome mindset and do what is pleasing to our Lord and care about how we treat others.Your reward is worth it and it is in safe keeping with Him.
What a beautiful and glorious future yet to behold. That helps us to keep going forward.
