Jesus said we are to be the salt of the earth. Salt flavors food to give it a distinct and memorable taste. We are to be the fragrance of the earth for Jesus Christ and season every place we go on the earth. Every pocket of darkness we find on earth we are to instill salt in that place. We are to leave a sweet aroma every place we go for Jesus Christ. We are the supernatural salt of Jesus Christ empowered by His Holy Spirit to achieve that life-giving freshness to all those around us.
“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.” Matthew 5:13
Let’s think about what a difference we can make for the Lord if we freshen the earth with His presence. Signs and wonders will follow us, the salt of the earth, wherever we go. God’s goodness and love will touch every person we come in contact with. People will come to Jesus in droves around the world. God will bring revival to the lands we go to. We are the salt of the earth and we win the victory every time because God always leads us in victory.
We cannot fail if we walk in the power and the might of the Lord in these deep days of darkness the light always drowns out the darkness. When sin abounds in the world grace will increase all the more. This translates to when Satan works more through people; God will prevail through his power in His people. The army of the Lord will roundly defeat the forces of darkness. We fight against principalities and powers in the heavenly places. We don’t fight against flesh and blood. We direct our weapons against the armies of hell. Again we remember we are the mighty salt of the earth that preserves humanity until Jesus comes back.
Jesus already defeated the enemy making a public display of Him on Calvary and He stripped the enemy of all his power. He roams the earth seeking to kill, steal and destroy anyone he can. But if we keep our eyes on Jesus the enemy can never defeat us as we remain strong in Jesus and salt the entire earth with His sweetness!
