The World Is At Its Turning Point

The world has witnessed the darkness and the light, deception and truth. With an estimated 100,000 people attending the memorial service for Charlie Kirk, no matter what political views one has, according to Wikipedia it was one of the largest memorial services in history.

The contrast between good and evil is so obvious, that one cannot ignore it or see it, unless they choose to do so. A strong message was sent to the world that righteousness overcomes darkness and evil. The gospel of grace and redemption was given. An arena packed with people were singing together. There was even forgiveness by Erika Kirk. It was a great spiritual awakening and revival. The 100,000 gathering exemplified what it says in Romans 12. “Let love be genuine. abhor what is evil, hold fast to what is good…outdo one another in showing honor…repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all…, do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”

Hopefully some of the resistors, and those who laughed, watched the service, but I highly doubt it. If they did so, they got a glimpse of the people they could become. However, they may choose darkness rather than light because their deeds are exposed by the light.

Now, the United States and the world is at a turning point. it can take the side of darkness and evil, or it can take the side of light and righteousness. However, after being exposed to what went on at the memorial service it would be foolish to continue in darkness. Those who choose to continue down the dark path will never know what life with Jesus can be like. It would be a life of hope, peace and purpose, despite what the world conditions are like. They will have everything to lose and nothing to gain. They might gain the whole world, but lose their own soul (Matthew 16:26).

The world has seen what can happen without God’s grace in a person’s life. It has also seen the result of God’s grace at work in one’s life. God has made it abundantly clear about the transforming power of his grace. The thought has come to mind since the memorial service and revival that perhaps God is giving people a last chance to accept Jesus as their savior before judgment comes.

I hope that what happened and was spoken at the memorial service will be a turning point in your life, if it has already not happened.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world,  but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only son of God. And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.”

  1. This telecast of Charlie Kirk’s memorial service comes across as a calling for the multitude to hear the truth and be set free in. Christ before it is too late. An avenue that we can remember during the Billy Graham crusaders but in a different sense as one who became a martyr for his Lord.
Only the Lord knows the reason this tragedy played out. He could have intervened but we can only reason why it was allowed. Erika and her children are left with a huge loss in their lives as a result of this evil act but many blessings are coming forth as a result.
We haven’t see this playing out much in our country but it has gone on for centuries in the lives of believers all over the world.
Unfortunately mockery is a part of the equation as even Christ was mocked. Yet forgiveness was extended to everyone while He was on the cross which included his enemies.
Erika Kirk followed in the way of Christ’s teachings. It is a poison to one’s own self if we carry hatred within us. We are liberated by that choice.
We can only hope that there were people drawn to this unusual service if only to view what the other side represents and the way they respond.
    Appreciated your article, John!
