I overheard two men in conversation while waiting in the doctor’s office. I thought it was profound and so endearing to hear people discussing the LORD openly and with a powerful message too. So after hearing these words I was inspired to write this devotional.
First Man: “Brian, Christmas always reminds me of lights and gifts, but lately I wonder if we miss the deeper meaning.”
Second Man: “You’re right. The true gift is not wrapped in paper but in flesh — the Word made flesh, dwelling among us.”
First Man: “So the manger was not just a cradle, but the doorway to everlasting life.”
Second Man: “Exactly. And that life began for us the moment we believed.”
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” John 1:14
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6
The incarnation is the most unusual and profound truth of Christianity. God Himself entered human history, not in splendor, but in humility. The manger was the throne of grace, and the infant Christ was the eternal King.
John 1:14 declares that the Word became flesh, showing us that divinity clothed itself in humanity to redeem us. Isaiah 9:6 reminds us that this Child is not ordinary; He is Wonderful, Mighty God, and Prince of Peace.
Christmas is not merely a season of remembrance, but a celebration of eternal life already begun. When we accepted Christ, His peace entered our hearts, His Spirit sealed our souls, and His blood declared us worthy. Our Christianity is not a tradition but a living testimony that we are children of God, heirs of everlasting life.
How can we live each day as though the manger still shines, reminding us that Christ’s Presence is not seasonal but eternal?
“LORD God-thank You for coming in humility to bring us everlasting life. May we honor Your birth not at Christmas season but in every moment and season of our lives. Fill us with peace, strengthen our faith, and remind us that our worthiness is found only in Your blood. In Jesus name, Amen.“
The Bottom Line, Ministries Christian News, Articles, & Poetry

So grateful that you shared this message. What a wonderful opportunity that you were in the presence of this conversation. We have a greater reason to shout out the good news than the angels for we are the recipients of His arrival.
We hear these words this time of year,
tossed about to a listening ear
Or in a card to state some cheer
Hope you receive the ‘Christmas spirit’
But it only comes if Christ is in it!
People scurry about
to bring some joy to their tots
But they don’t really understand what this season is about.
Celebration in on the agenda
Along with a visit from Santa
No room for the Christ child, He doesn’t matter
Festivities are the focus for coming together.
Their lack of knowledge robs them of true peace within,
For this One came to rescue this world from our deep debt of sin.
He is the greatest gift wrapped in swaddling cloth
Sent down to earth for all who receive Him knowing they are lost
With Love,
From the Father above!
Joy is only found in this baby Boy
WHO chose to come for you and me
So we will be with Him for all eternity!
