“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6
This verse stands like a bright star in the night sky — a promise spoken long before the birth of Christ, yet fulfilled with breathtaking precision. “Unto us a child is born” reminds us that God’s greatest gift came in the most unexpected form: not as a warrior, not as a ruler seated on a throne, but as a newborn wrapped in humility. The Savior of the world arrived small enough to be held, yet great enough to hold all creation together.
Every title in this verse speaks to a need we still feel today.
- When life becomes confusing or heavy, He is Wonderful —the One who brings awe back into weary hearts.
When we don’t know which way to turn, He is Counsellor — the One whose wisdom never fails. When we feel weak or overwhelmed, He is The mighty God — strong enough to carry what we cannot.
When loneliness or loss touches us, He is The everlasting Father — constant, present, unchanging. - And when the world feels chaotic, He is The Prince of Peace — the One who calms storms both around us and within us.
This child born “unto us” is not distant. He is personal. He is near. He is the One who steps into our days — from morning’s first thoughts to the quiet moments before sleep — offering strength, guidance, and peace. The government upon His shoulder reminds us that nothing in this world is beyond His authority. Not our fears, not our circumstances, not the uncertainties of tomorrow. He carries what we cannot, and He rules with a steady, righteous hand.
As we reflect on this verse, we are invited to rest — not in our own ability, but in His identity. The Child who came is the Lord who reigns, and the Savior who walks with us still.
Look around, marvel at the beauty that came to reside with us over two thousand years ago – who came to give His all.
The immense sacrifice and agape love He gave to us by leaving His throne to walk among us!
To save us!
To love us!
To guide us!
- The World was never the same again, once the LIGHT came!
- He was, is, and IS to come – again.
- And His Kingdom will have NO END.
- King of kings.
- What an amazing God we serve!
LORD- thank You for sending Your Son, the Child who became our Savior and King. Help me rest in who You are — Wonderful, Counsellor, mighty God, everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. Let Your Presence guide my steps today and fill my heart with Your peace. In Jesus name, Amen.
Happy Blessed Christmas Brothers and Sisters!
