The Bible says that in the last days before the return of Christ evil will get worse and worse. I realize that this is a very negative way to start an article, but it is reality. The worst part of this is that people are living in spiritual blindness and deception as to its cause. There is a constant desire on the part of some to still insist that guns are the problem. Despite the fact that the more gun legislation that is passed, mass shootings still continue, and I am writing this right after the assassination of Charlie Kirk. This ought to tell people something. It is human nature that is the problem. It was not like this when I was growing up when there was no gun legislation, but also very rarely a mass shooting.
The American society (I don’t know about other countries) is raising a culture of death where a bullet has replaced understanding and dialogue. I came across an article that read, 1 in 3 College Students Believe in Violence To Stop Campus Speech. How has a civilized nation like the United States gotten to this point? In getting further and further away from God, human nature has dropped to lower and lower levels in regard to human life. Life is not viewed as a creation of God.
In addition, there is a false belief about the nature of humanity. The majority of people believe in the goodness of humanity, and while it is true that most are decent moral people that would never commit an evil act, “The bible presents a much different picture. The language of scripture is not for the faint of heart. It teaches that man is an apostate, fallen from his original innocence, degraded in his nature, depraved in his thinking, prone toward evil, not good, and impacted by sin to the very core of his being.”* In fact, much of the Old Testament is a history of the evilness of the human race. Until this is realized people will see no need to turn to the grace of God for a transformed nature.
However, this does not explain the huge uptick in mass killings and assassinations. Romans 1: 28-32 explains it. “And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what not ought to be done. They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Though they know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them, but give approval to those who practice them” (Emphasis mine).
A debased mind is defined as a corrupt mind with a loss of moral discernment and inability to know right from wrong as a result of persistently rejecting truth.
It is also significant that at the end of the above verse it says people give hearty approval to those who practice such things. We are seeing this in all the people who are applauding the killing of others. So, this is prophetic of the End Times.
There are three other issues that contribute to the problem of evil. There has been a direct connection tied to 1 out of 4 young men growing up with no father figure in the home, and the majority of shootings are done by young men. Two, authorities have noticed a pattern in mass shootings of people who have become transgender. Three, there is a very interesting verse in Ecclesiastes 8:11– “Because the sentence against an evil deed is not executed speedily, the heart of the children of men is fully set to do evil.” So, part of the problem is our criminal justice system, which sometimes takes months or years to prosecute people and sentence them.
The only answer is to realize that people need a savior from their own destructive ways. That Savior is Jesus Christ who can turn a person from hate to love, and from violence to peace. There will be no peace in the world until there is peace with God (Romans 5:1)). This is a free gift of God‘s grace by accepting Jesus as the Savior (Romans 10:9-10).

Hi John,
Excellent message, as always.
I especially love this – “There will be no peace in the world until there is peace with God (Romans 5:1))”
Many billboards across the country put up “Know God Know Peace – No God – No Peace.” So true.
Thank you for this much needed commentary.
God Bless~

It seems that people who are educators in schools and universities are promoting rhetoric that leads to behavior that causes hate, division, and criticism toward those who don’t agree with their ideology. Then we see their logic on display by the disruption of these students and visitors on certain campuses demonstrating this conduct while approving and supporting such activities. Our educational system is broken and there are schools going behind the backs of parents who are raising their children in a manner far different.
Reprogramming our youth is currently causing a death toll to our society. A toll that harms every individual no matter their age. Leading them away from the Lord and into a false reality of how and why we exist or who we are as a person as though we can change our bodies into someone we can never become no matter the cost. It makes no common sense to pretend who someone really isn’t by going along with their fantasies. It is cruel and disgusting for they are part of the problem than the solution for the delusion they help create.
No wonder we are seeing this playing out today. Well it isn’t the gun that does the damage but the one who picks it up and fires it. Taking away guns isn’t going to stop murders. There are other devices we are hearing about that is being used by deranged individuals to do just that.
We hear many are searching for peace but you have to know the Prince of Peace in order to find it. Their answer is only found in Jesus!
