Does it Get Any More Perilous Than This?

When the bad becomes good and the wrong becomes right… Look up! God is coming soon. You might say, “We still have more time.” And that’s why Christ’s coming will catch many off-guard. The Bible warns that in the last days, perilous times will come. (2 Timothy 3:1) So I’ll ask, does it get any more perilous that this?

Let’s take a closer look at 2 Timothy 3:2-4.

“For men shall be lovers of their own selves.” The world has become a place dominated by self-absorbed humans. Many are obsessed with Selfies. “Covetous.” People seem to have no control over their greed and selfish desires. “Boasters. Proud.” Instead of being humble and thankful to God, those who have, often throw it in the faces of those who have not. “Blasphemers.” Atheism is on the rise. Additionally, cartoons such as Family Guy and American Dad often make fun of Jesus and Christianity. “Disobedient to parents.” Respect is becoming a scarce commodity children give to parents. They’re constantly throwing temper tantrums and treating parents like peers. “Unthankful.” People are becoming increasingly ungrateful. “Unholy.” Individuals find pleasure in behaving ungodly and immoral.

“Without natural affection.” Affection has been reduced to an unethical act. Brothers are sleeping with their sisters, men are getting married to men, and the list is endless. “Trucebreakers. False accusers.” Breaking promises and lying has become an accepted norm. “Incontinent.” Self-control is almost extinct and it’s only practice by the minority. “Despisers of those that are good.” People who try to live for God are frowned upon and are mocked. “High-minded.” Many think they are better than others and will look down on the less fortunate. “Lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God.” Individuals are more concerned with satisfying selfish desires than with pleasing God.

These are indeed perilous times. And if all of that isn’t enough, Matthew 24:6-14 also speak of perilous times. During the end-time, there will be wars, famines, earthquakes, Christian-slaying, false prophets, intense betrayal and hatred, cold love, and then the end will come. 2 Peter 3:3 further confirms that people will mock God’s law and follow their own desires. The Supreme Court legalizing gay marriages, is doing just that. Brothers and sisters, does it get any more perilous than this? Check out these real life proofs:
