PROVERBS 24
16 For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.
HOW MANY TIMES HAVE YOU FALLEN?
The answer in my case, I’ve lost count, we have a phrase in the UK, you can’t keep a good man down.
That’s so true, I am reminded of so many saints in the bible who fell, ones like Peter, who was always tripping up, mostly because of his big mouth.
Time after time, he opened it and fell flat on his face, but he got up and went forward.
When we fall as a child, there was usually someone to pick us up, this was usually our father or mother.
Likewise, when we fall in the Christian life, there is Our father to pick us up and who gives us the strength to carry on.
The writer of proverbs loves to compare the righteous and the wicked, here both fall, but one falls and gets up, the other one falls into mischief, he doesn’t get up.
I love Psalm 40 so much, it was the first one that God spoke to me through, the words in verses 2-3, are from someone who has fallen, but who has been rescued by God and brought into a living relationship with almighty God.
2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.
Remember Christian, if we do fall, we have an advocate Jesus Christ the righteous 1 John 2:2
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
If you have fallen and all of us have and will, cry out to your heavenly father in true repentance and he will pick you up and you can move forward in your Christian walk.
God bless you
