A Belly Full

It can be done just about anywhere
At home, in church, and often at the fair
You don’t need permission to do it
And there is really no limit
Kids and babies do it all the time
But it’s never done out loud by a mime
You can do it by yourself or in a group
Laying down, standing up, or while you stoop
I bet the answer to this riddle you’re now chasing
Catch your breath; the answer is…LAUGHING!

God grant us a huge favor when he created laughter. How potent and poignant such an effortless action. Take a minute to imagine what life would be like without it… I’m pretty sure the images your mind conceives are bland and gloomy. Our heavenly father knows how important it is to laugh. Life can become sorrowful yes, but God provides for us the means to overcome those sad times. “He will yet fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouts of joy.” Job 8:21

Experiencing a belly full of laughter is truly mood altering. There is no way you can remain in a foul mood after a haughty laugh. As long as your grinning is not at the expense of someone else’s happiness, go ahead and indulge—take a load off. I guarantee you’ll feel better afterwards. Plus, laughing is contagious, so you’ll also be lifting the spirits of others as well. Be the person whom you would want to be around.

Just look at all the good things laughing brings. It reduces the hormones that causes stress while releasing endorphin; which is a good hormone. As a result, laughing is one of the best as well as cheapest ways to de-stress. Laughing can also build relationships because it lightens mood and kills tension. Individuals often feel more relaxed and open to share after a good laugh. You may not be aware, but you also burn calories when you laugh. Just check out the “shake-party” your body is having during laughing. Lastly, you’ll look better for having done it because laughing almost always starts and ends with a smile! Proverbs 17:22 says: “A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”

“Leave the door to your mood open so a cheerful countenance can enter at will.”
