Is There Really A God And Living Savior ?

About half of the world’s population is living in countries where religion worships dead idols. There are others who have been taught humanism and evolution, or are atheists. They know nothing, or in some cases, choose to know nothing about God and a savior.

For those who have never read the Bible, Genesis 1:1 says God created the heavens and the earth, and in Genesis 1:26-27 it says he created humanity. A further description is given in Psalm 139:13-16. In reference to human creation, a Chinese scientist who was an atheist became a believer in God from studying the human eye. Its structure was impossible to explain by chance alone. The more he studied it the more his atheism began to crumble.

Also consider this quote from the former astronaut, the late-John Glenn, the first American to orbit the earth. He said, “To look out at this kind of creation and not believe in God is to me impossible.” Romans 1:18-20 says that because of creation people have no excuse for not believing in God.

Not only is there evidence of God, but He sent his son, Jesus, to earth to die for your sins and to give you hope and peace in this troubled world. What makes Jesus different? He is a living savior. He was resurrected from the dead and is alive today. You don’t believe in a literal and bodily resurrection?

“There is more evidence that Jesus rose from the dead than there is that Julius Caesar ever lived or that Alexander the Great died at the age of thirty-three. It is strange that historians will accept thousands of facts for which they can produce only shreds of evidence. But in the face of the overwhelming evidence of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, they cast a skeptical eye and hold intellectual doubts. The trouble with these people is that they do not want to believe. There spiritual vision is so blinded, and they are so completely prejudiced that they cannot accept the glorious fact of the resurrection of Christ on Bible testimony alone.” (1)

Whether you worship a dead idol or don’t believe in God, you can enter into a relationship with a living Jesus. In Acts 17:22-27  the Apostle Paul wrote to a group of religious people that still applies for today. “I perceived that in every way, you are very religious. For as I passed along and observed the objects of your worship I found also an altar with the inscription, ‘to the unknown God.’ What therefore you worship as unknown this I proclaim to you. The God who made the world and everything in, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man, nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mankind life and breath. And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us, for in him we live and move and have our being…”

God is not far from you. He is only one prayer away. If you are looking for a hope in this troubled world it won’t come from a dead idol. Pray to a living Savior. Pray this prayer:

Dear God, I admit that I have fallen short of your righteousness. I want to be free from the bondage of hopelessness and ungodly living going on in our culture. I need your saving grace. Thank you for your forgiveness by dying for my sins and rising from the dead that I might have eternal life. I accept you as my savior. Amen.

  1. Wonderful that you placed a prayer for those who read this article. People may not know how or what to say to the Lord and this is a very good example they can read and use with a sincere heart.
