If Only We Had Time Enough To Love

Fifty-six years ago we started systematically removing God from our schools. This is a much debated topic of late with the school massacre in Parkland, Florida. Few have the Godly wisdom to understand what it has done to our precious children when we began His removal with the banning of organized prayer in our schools.

The opposite of love is hatred. When society’s despising of God found it’s way into the schoolroom, we were in essence…Despising our own children. We failed them! We failed to love them as Christ loved us. It is a sacrificial love and an active love. It is also a growing love, a love that grows to love God more and more, and the world less.

Here are the five ways we failed to love our own children with the love of Christ:

  1. We have hindered our own children from coming to Christ. (Luke 18:15-17)
  2. We stopped welcoming our children to school in Christ’s name and in the name of the One who sent Him. (Luke 9:46-47)
  3. Many of our children are in great distress as the homes they come from are broken and Godless. We failed to take care of the orphans and the widows. (James 1:27)
  4. We took away our children’s only “stronghold” against their enemy Satan. The praise of children to God is their defense. (Psalms 8:2)
  5. We are to teach our children God’s Word…Morning, Noon, and Night. We stopped His words from being written on their hearts every morning and noon. All that was left was the evening time.

Do you have time enough in your day to love?

If Only We Had Time Enough To Love

What if every child,
Every single girl and boy.
What if the only tears they shed,
They were tears of many joys!

What if every child woke up in the morning
And woke up without any mourning!
What if every child woke up each day
And all they had time to think of,
Was only to go out and play!

If only you and I,
If only we had time enough to love!

What if every child,
They knew love didn’t have to hurt!
What if truth instead of lies were spread
And color was no longer a divisive word!

What if every love was a love that would last!
What if hate was a thing forgotten in the past!
What if every child,
They woke up every morning with enough food to be fed
And then went to school knowing God was not dead!

If only you and I,
If only we had time enough to love!

What if every child,
They had enough love for them to sleep!
What if Jesus was who every child dreamed of!
What if they truly believed He shed the blood of love!

What if today’s Eve,
Could find their Second Adam’s worth!
What if every person on Earth,
They were born again of the Second Birth!
What if you and I truly lived like we believed!

We would see the beauty in a child’s regenerate smile.
Butterfly kisses would last all eternity’s while.
Every child would know nothing but Christ’s joy,
Even though there is one who comes seeking to steal, kill, and destroy.

We would be then what we should be to one another.
We would be each other’s biggest fan.
We would all sing songs of worship morning, noon, and night.
We would give all praise to God and His Sacrificial Lamb.
There would be no more…Columbine, Sandy Hook, and Parkland.

What if you and I,
We who know Him who is love.
What if we all had time enough to love!
